EditorsKeys specializes in computer keyboards that have command shortcut guides for video or audio editing software printed on the keys. Since many of its clients work in dimly lit rooms, the company is developing backlit versions of its keyboards.
Last year we checked out a radical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed NES by console modding duo Platinumfungi and Custom NES Guy. The duo’s latest work is another NES casemod based on the heroes in a half shell, but this time it’s an homage to the franchise’s first comic book (and first appearance for that matter), which was in black and white with a dollop of red on the cover.
The last time we featured console modder Ryan Fitzpatrick aka Platinum Fungi we saw his personal tribute to Mega Man 2. His latest finished project on the other hand is up for grabs. It’s a radical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES.
The first Mega Man game celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, while its sequel is still “only” 24 years old. But it was Mega Man 2 that catapulted the Blue Bomber and his franchise to fame, and is widely considered to be one of the best videogames of all time.
Got $200 bucks to spend on a really cool keyboard? You could pick up one of those Luxeed rainbow LED keyboards, but that’s would be so 2008 of you. If you really want to be the cool kid on the block, you need one of these new Logitech G19 keyboards, which features a built-in color LCD screen and LED backlighting.
Do you remember the oh-so-low-low-tech game Snake? Now it can be played on a monome with an accelerometer. You don’t even need a controller, since the tilting motion is all you need to control the snake’s movements.
I’m absolutely bonkers for these gorgeous new digital clocks from British industrial designer Theo Williams. The LEXON Jet series of clocks feature a bold electroluminescent backlit dot matrix display that’s really really easy to read.
In addition to telling time, day and date, the Jet wall clock also features a temperature display and an alarm.
Here’s a new digital watch I thought really stood out from the crowd. Nixon’s Answer watch comes in a couple of colors, but the bright blue and white one pictured here really caught my eye.
To complement its swimming pool blue case (they call it Sky Blue, but I know better), the Answer features a aquatic blue-backlit LCD screen.
