The very talented case modder Javier Riquelme customized several PlayStation 3 consoles for Sony, who in turn gave them as gifts to its partner developers and publishers. With the exception of what seems to be Javier’s trademark flourish, each console looks radically different and suited to its theme.

The creators of the incredibly popular Halo franchise have announced a new project they are working on called Destiny. The video game will introduce players to an epic science fiction universe, including a persistent online world filled with sweeping adventures.

After wowing us with his homemade Predator costume, Shawn Thorsson does it again, this time with great-looking Halo Master Chief costumes. Shawn wasn’t content to just make one though. He made a whole squad, which look like the Red vs Blue Master Chief costume, except in all the colors of the rainbow.

DeviantARTist Misty (aka ~gozita2003) must have just a little bit of time on her hands. At least that’s what I figure from the looks of this intricate giant Master Chief papercraft sculpture she put together.

So let’s say you have twenty or so awesome moments in your Halo 3 career preserved in screenshots. Yeah, the time you stuck that guy right in the face? Remember when you snatched up that flag right in the middle of heavy fire from the red team?

I spotted this great Halo-inspired Xbox 360 casemod over on deviantART this morning. Modder EvilDan created this scene of Master Chief and an energy sword-wielding Covenant Elite on the top (or side – depending on how you look at it) of a modded 360 for a friend.

I’m not sure when Ecko embraced geek and gamer culture, but it’s pretty cool that they have. So now Halo fans – of which there are an abundant amount – can celebrate the launch of Halo 3: ODST by braving winter in their very own limited edition Ecko ODST hoodie.

The many enemies and races of the Halo universe are interesting enough in their own right, but these particular examples are way beyond the norm. Halo fan and clay genius Antithesis doesn’t create Halo figures. This is art.

If you have a moment in Halo 3 you’re particularly proud of, you can savor the video and even force everyone you know to watch it. But maybe that’s not enough for you. Maybe you need your deeds commemorated with the beauty and flair they deserve.

Now this is my kind of boom box… Halo fan Mordacil’s SPNKR rocket launcher boom box has speakers built into the barrels, and a slot on top for connecting an MP3 player. While you could use it to play an aggressive tune like Bang Your Head, or something more whimsical like Blow the Man Down, I think I’d rather play the Halo theme music to preserve the illusion.

If you’re a Halo fan, at some point you’ve probably wished you could have an actual energy sword to take out your frustrations with. While no such real-world weapon currently exists, here’s the next best thing.

Earlier today, a post popped up on the Bungie.net website revealing a special deal for new Xbox 360 buyers who upgrade from an original Xbox. According to the post (which has since been removed for some reason), if you buy an Xbox 360 this holiday season, you’ll be able to grab a free copy of their hit game, Halo 3.

Well, I managed to make it through the entire launch week without a single post about Halo 3. Then eBay had to ruin it all for me. I’ve finally managed to find a Halo-related story that wasn’t redundant with the mountain of coverage that’s been out there.

You’ve gotta love this. Apparently some dirty little troll over at SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) has been sneaking around over at Wikipedia and edited Microsoft’s Halo 3 entry. Back in April, the SCEE poster added the small notation “Although it wont look any better than Halo 2” to the listing, implying that the game’s graphics won’t live up to the Xbox 360’s potential.

Bungie today confirmed that Halo 3 has gone gold. In other words, the game is done, complete, finito and in the can. After three years of design, development and testing, the latest installment in Microsoft’s FPS juggernaut is ready for the world.

If you’re looking for a serious conversation piece, check out this 7-foot tall statue of Halo’s Master Chief that someone has for sale over on eBay. I guess Microsoft made a very limited number of these to promote Halo 2 when it came out.
