One of the coolest companies out there for the DIY and Maker scene has got to be Inventables. Based here in my home town of Chicago, they not only sell a wide variety of materials and equipment for 3D printing, milling and laser cutting, they also make some gear themselves.

3D printers are getting cooler and cooler every day. Resolutions are quickly approaching the point where it’s possible to create very, very detailed surfaces with a minimum of aliasing. Yeah, I’m calling it “aliasing,” since that’s basically what it is and most of you geeks get the reference.

Are you too lazy to get the door? Have you ever lugged yourself out of bed to the sound of the doorbell ringing, only to open it and find that there’s no one there? Or did you open it to find one of those annoying salesmen who just can’t take a hint?

There must be a market for these teeny tiny cameras, which is why Thanko just released another one. The MAME-CAM DX [JP] is miniature digital camera that’s currently only available in Japan, but you can probably find a way to get them in the US thanks to importers.
