If you’re like me, you can never have enough internet speed. With more and more content being streamed digitally, and video resolutions like 4K, faster is always better. Now, it looks like Comcast is working on bringing gigabit speeds to customers.
I’ve seen commercials for Comcast’s Xfinity Home service, but have never seen the system in use until now. I recently had the opportunity to stop by a home that was fully outfitted with this smarthome and security service, and was really impressed with what I saw.
If you’re a customer of cable provider Comcast, a new app update is available for you on Apple and Android devices. The app is the Xfinity TV Player App and it will allow you to download TV shows and movies directly to your mobile device to play offline and on the go.
I really like Netflix and other streaming services for movies and TV shows. I have always hoped that eventually there would be a lot more competition in the market and that would push movie studios and other content providers to allow more streaming content overall.
After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Comcast has finally given the “green light” to TiVo’s software for release on their DVRs.
The two companies reached an agreement way back in March 2005 to offer TiVo’s applications running on Comcast hardware.
