The collector’s edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came with a making-of DVD, a huge art book and a statue of a dragon. You know what was missing that could have justified the $150 price tag?

Leonard Carson had been toying with the idea of combining carbon fiber with stormtrooper armor for some time. He managed to convince three of his co-workers join his cause and this is the result. I have to say that these carbon troopers look quite impressive.

While making my customary bedtime lurking on Reddit, I came upon a link that pointed to an “Incredible Dark Knight Cecil (from Final Fantasy IV) custom armor.” Okay, click. Then I came upon these pictures and was thoroughly confused.

Check out this amazing Clone Trooper Halloween costume, that was made for a 10-year old by his Star Wars-loving dad Parrster. The most amazing thing is that it’s mostly made out of cardboard and papier-mâché. It definitely looks awesome.

Redditor adriannezy wanted to “participate in Halloween at the absolute minimum level” at her workplace, so she went as a QR code. Well, not exactly. She went as a clever geek, who found a way to be seen wearing a costume without actually wearing one in real life.

There’s only a couple of days before Halloween, so if you haven’t already picked out your costume, you might want to get it together now. If you happen to be a fan of Inspector Gadget, here’s a fun idea to bring that costume to life.

This is more of a sci-fi cosplay costume than a Halloween costume, but if you’d wear this over the weekend, it would probably amaze anyone you’d come across. This awesome costume was made by Maker extraordinaire Shawn Thorsson, best known for those incredible HALO costumes (his Predator wasn’t half bad either).

Halloween is just days away, so the number of cool, geeky costumes hitting my screen is starting to increase each day we get closer. So far, the early winner for the 2011 Halloween season is this Nikon D3 DSLR costume, which is actually fully-functional.

I would have never thought about combining Hello Kitty with Ghostbusters, but apparently somebody has. This custom proton pack was recently seen at this year’s NYC Comic Con. A lot of time went into it to make it look this good.

Attention Zelda fans! If you’ve been debating whether or not to show up as Link at your office Halloween party this year, I think I might have the thing that pushes you over the edge. Check out this beautifully-crafted Hylian shield, perfect for protecting yourself from your co-workers (and Octorocs).

It’s a little-known fact, but apparently Boba Fett fought his earliest battles in the old Norse seas. At least that’s what I’ve gleaned from my phony-made-up-history lesson learned from staring at this Boba Fett helmet:

Fans of the classic Battlestar Galactica series will be drooling over this epic bit of cosplay gear, just announced. It’s a helmet based on the ones worn by Colonial Viper pilots, and it’s a perfect replica of the original.

There’s nothing like a good geek weapon to get me drooling, and this prop gun based on the M-29 Incisor Rifle from Mass Effect 2 has me salivating in spades.

I’m not sure from whence this Pac-Man ghost dress originated, but it’s pretty great. I especially like the pixelated fringing on the bottom of this short little number, done up to look like Inky, the cyan ghost.

This is kind of funny because I never thought that any company would sponsor The Dark Side, but here you have it, the adidas Stormtrooper, ready to die for Darth Vader, while promoting the popular athletic-wear brand.

Yep, it’s September, and if you can believe it, Halloween is just around the corner. If you’re looking for a cool costume, and don’t have a lot of time (or the talent) to put one together for yourself, you should definitely check this out.
