For some reason, I don’t remember Mario looking this way. Not only have I never seen the roly-poly Italian plumber look this sexy, tall, or wearing this much eye makeup, but I’m pretty sure his overalls were never quite this form-fitting.

Halloween will be here before you know it, and Doctor Who fans are no doubt looking for something special to wear. Not that they need to use Halloween as an excuse of course. With just a bit of effort, maybe you can make your own version of this awesome Weeping Angel costume.

We’ve featured our share of cool video game costumes over the years, but cosplay for pets is a little less common. That doesn’t mean that it’s can’t be just as awesome as human cosplay, like this animal costume inspired by Ōkami.

I watched Friends when it was on the air. The only episode I remember was the one where Jennifer Aniston was dressed like Princess Leia in that gold bikini. I think it’s safe to say that every geeky male fan of Star Wars has wished at some point that he could talk his girl into wearing that costume.

After seeing Miss Death Star the other day, it made me wonder what other cool, retro geek-chic outfits were out there for those of you without the time to make a DIY cosplay getup. These tube dresses will allow you to dress up like a life-size Nintendo Game Boy.

Check out Jennifer Landa’s fancy Death Star dress, that comes complete with galaxy tights and a TIE Interceptor serre-tête. I’m sure all Star Wars fans are going a bit loony over this, and I have to say that it looks pretty good.

One of the things I love in Mass Effect 2 are the detailed non-human characters. The default male Shepard looks like garbage compared to the beings around him. Based on looks alone the best made character has to be Grunt, but in general they’re all detailed and unique.

Here’s a rare piece of cosplaying accessory that would go well with the foam pickaxe. This Minecraft avatar cardboard head was one of only three such heads given away at E3 2011. You might be thinking to yourself, meh, that’s not so boss, I could print one on my own.

This Iron Man Mark I suit was built by a Chinese guy named Wang Xiao Kang, and he built it from scratch. That’s saying a lot because this suit looks pretty darn great. Wang says that he had no prior DIY experience, but from the look of his suit, it’s pretty much on the mark when it comes to faithfulness.

Star Wars movie buffs will recognize this jacket without need for any introduction or background info. I personally only saw the Revenge of the Sith, the third episode in the Star Wars series, so seeing this fine-looking jacket motivated me to dig a little deeper into the scene where the Yavin medal made its appearance.

Who could forget about the transforming briefcase suit from Iron Man 2? We’ve already seen a replica of the briefcase, but Ryan Brooks takes it to the next level, building one that actually transforms into a wearable suit.

Danny Ashby’s take on Boba Fett is no mere clone: When I first saw this picture, I actually thought it was a painting. As Justin Page said, the photography and the lighting augmented the brass and browns of Ashby’s costume.
