The Curiosity Rover is still up there right now cruising around the surface of Mars doing its sciency stuff. It’s picking up dirt, checking it for microbes or water, and taking some really cool selfies. The latest video that NASA has offered up from the Red Planet is one that Curiosity shot.

Hardware and software developer Sergey Grishchenko made this small remote-controlled model of NASA’s Curiosity rover from scratch. Sergey designed and printed most of the toy’s non-electronic parts, including the wheels and the claw arm. Sergey used a LinkIt One computer to power his mini Curiosity.

NASA has been cruising around the surface of Mars with the Curiosity rover for a while now, performing all sorts of experiments and research. Curiosity has taken selfies, analyzed rocks, and searched for life on the barren red planet.

NASA isn’t immune to software glitches that can cause some of its incredibly expensive hardware to stop functioning. Such was the case about a week ago when a software update caused a fault on the Curiosity Mars rover, leaving it immobile for almost a week.
