We here at Technabob are big fans of Richard “Datamancer” Nagy, the craftsman responsible for high quality steampunk computers and accessories. Sadly Datamancer passed away earlier this week. While that may be stunning news to his fans, it’s even more of a loss to his family.

I’ve always thought that the computer keyboards you can buy at most stores are pretty dull. I’m really surprised that there aren’t more really custom keyboards available given the fact that each person really has their own style.

We’ve featured Richard Nagy aka Datamancer’s steampunk laptop before, but like most modern gadgets, Datamancer’s products evolve. Unlike most modern gadgets, the second revision of his laptop is encased in wood and adorned with brass and gold.

I’ve seen a lot of cool steampunk projects and steampunk-inspired designs, but Datamancer’s Steampunk Laptop takes the cake, in my opinion. You might have already seen or heard about the Steampunk Laptop. After all, it has been around for the past five years, and I remember gawking at photos of the redesigned laptop itself a few years back.
