I’ve certainly seen my share of unusual speakers over the years, but this one from designer Sylvain Gerber is one of the more offbeat designs I’ve seen in recent times.
From everything I can tell, the Snowflake Speaker is just a concept design, but if it actually existed, it would work as a dock for your iPhone or iPod.
There was a show on when I was in first grade called That’s Incredible. I loved that show and I remember this one dude came on the show that could eat glass. I thought if I could do that in the lunchroom I could totally hold hands with a third grade girl that sat across from me at lunch because no girl can resist a glass eater.
Pat Langton put together these nifty retro Star Wars posters. The only beef that I have is that I thought that Star Wars was already retro… Still, it’s always cool to see a re-interpretation of my favorite trilogy, by this I mean the original trilogy, not the new one!
Artist Stefan Le Dû recently completed this series of photos about the everyday life for a pair of stormtroopers from Star Wars who find themselves in strange and comical situations.
You can see the whole set here or visit Stefan’s Flickr album.
If you find yourself playing a lot of old school games, like Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and others, then I’ve found the perfect toaster for you. It will start out your day in a great way, while reminding you of your retro-gaming passion.
The designers – or is it just one person? – at Mintpass have come up with a stylish design for a media player. It’s called the Mint Sputnik, and it was inspired by the similarly named Russian satellite.
At first glance, the idea of a pricey pad of paper that looks like an iPad seemed a bit unnecessary to me. Then, I got to thinking that if I were an iPad app developer, these pads actually could be pretty handy for sketching out ideas for new apps.
I really like Olivier Demangel‘s take on the Nintendo DS. It’s true that the DSi XL has got larger screens, but Olivier’s design makes them even bigger. He calls it the Nintendo 3DS, which happens to be the name Nintendo has been using for their upcoming 3D console.
When it comes to getting drinks the only things that come in square containers are juice boxes and milk. Huey Lewis always said it was hip to be square, and this new design concept for green Coke bottles has turned up on Yanko Design that is pretty hip.
From the same demented mind that came up with the Redundant Clock comes the cruel Diet Scale. If large numbers don’t affect you anymore, how about being told that from now on you should only eat… water?
