Android is really hot right now with many of the world largest makers of smartphones and other gadgets looking to the open source OS, and consumers adopting it in droves. I guess this is the reason some weird products are surfacing with Android as their only redeeming quality.

When robots will be able to do stuff for you in your home, it will either be the end of the world or the beginning of a new revolution. Steve Norris from Norris Labs in Boston, MA, came up with this as his latest project: it’s called the BDS, which stands for the Beverage Delivery System.

This officially wins the Chindōgu award of the week. Seems our friends over at Evil Mad Scientist Labs are at it yet again. Hot on the heels of those delicious Asteroids cookies, they’re back – this time with a robot that makes cocktails.

These Atari-themed shot glasses manage to combine two of my favorite pastimes addictions – one from my childhood (playing Battle Zone), and one from my adulthood (sipping shots of Pappy Van Winkel’s.) Designed by Daizi Zheng, the cellphone’s fuel cells generate electricity from sugar, which isn’t exactly groundbreaking tech, but it’s not widely used either.

When I first saw this I thought it was one of those so-simple-it’s-brilliant kind of things,  but then I remembered how dirty the tops of canned drinks usually are. No rat piss on my Coke please, thank you.

Though I’m not at all certain that a Red Ring of Death is something to celebrate, per se (they’re usually occasions of anger and misery in my neighborhood), I suppose it’s nice to take something awful and turn it into something cool.
