Back in 2008, EA and Criterion Games launched one of the coolest car games ever made with Burnout Paradise. The game let players fly around the open world racing, crashing, and generally tearing stuff up. I spent more time playing that game with my son than any other game we owned.

I have loved to play SimCity in all its iterations on the PC over the years. I like to craft the cities and see how much money I can make. I also both love and hate the natural disasters that can befall your city and crush all your hard work.

I mentioned yesterday that EA had rolled out a new subscription gaming service that was available for Xbox One gamers only called EA Access. I wondered at the time why it wasn’t going to land for the PS4 console as well.

EA has announced a new subscription gaming service for users of the Xbox One game console called EA Access. The subscription service is available with a monthly fee of $4.99. For that monthly fee, gamers get access to a library of games called The Vault.

Gamers who have been playing for a while might recall when the original Mirror’s Edge hit the market. The game was very different from anything else that was out at the time. Mirror’s Edge saw a badass woman named Faith freerunning around a city as bad guys tried to kill her.

There are quite a few irritations when it comes to PC gaming. Most notable are all of the anti-piracy measures that plague games and make it hard for gamers to enjoy what they spent their money on.

PopCap Games is the developer behind the very popular mobile game franchise Plants vs. Zombies. During E3 this year PopCap and EA announced that a new game would be coming in the franchise aimed at console gamers called Plants vs.

EA has announced that it has signed a deal with Ken Block in which he will become the Racing Advisor for the Need for Speed franchise. Block is an amazing race car driver who has participated in rally racing and won multiple X-Games medals.

Historically, Nintendo has been one of the strongest companies in all of the gaming realm. Back in the 80s, the Nintendo game consoles were the most popular out there and even only a few years ago the company did exceedingly well in both the mobile and console markets.

EA has announced that it will be offering a downloadable co-op demo for its videogame Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel. The game demo will be available to download for Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers on March 12, 2013.

I’d be willing to bet there are huge number of gamers out there who have fond memories of playing previous SimCity games back in the day. I know I spent many an hour building a giant city only to destroy it with a rampaging monster or some other catastrophe.

I’ve been a gamer for a long time, and I’ve never been a fan of micro-transactions in games. These are the little paid add-ons that allow you to buy upgrades and other items that you might not have access to at all or at least not until you achieve higher levels otherwise.

The final downloadable content pack for incredibly popular video game Mass Effect 3 will be coming next month. This will be the last new content in the Mass Effect franchise and aims to allow fans to say goodbye to Commander Shepard and his team once and for all.

I’m honestly not real sure what I think about freemium video games for mobile users. It’s nice that you don’t have to pay for the game, but often you have to pay for every little upgrade and it usually works out to be much more expensive than just paying the five or six bucks up front to own the complete game.

We have talked a few times about the coming video game from EA and Visceral Games called Dead Space 3. Last time we mentioned the game it was getting voice command support for Microsoft Kinect users.
