Fans of the latest game in the Gears of War franchise will be able to get their hands on a new map pack for the game this week. The DLC is called Call to Arms and adds new multiple player maps and other content.

A new trailer for Capcom’s upcoming game Lost Planet 2 has popped up in the Xbox Live Marketplace that features Gears of War’s Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago battling the Akrids. Eurogamer thinks that the two will be downloadable characters (only for the Xbox 360 version of course), and will play no role in the story of the game.

A couple of weeks back, I reported a rumored October 2 launch date for the eagerly anticipated Gears of War. Well today, Microsoft Game Studios announced an official launch date of November 12, 2006 at a retail price of $59.99 USD (A $69.95 “Special Edition” is also anticipated – no surprise there).
