You’ve gotta hand it to schlock gadget merchants of China for their ability to completely laugh in the face of all intellectual property laws. Take, for example, this craptacular version of Angry Birds which you can now buy.

Would you look at this abomination. This is a knockoff/ripoff “Battman” console whose origins are unknown, though it’s clear from the “Made in China” sticker that it came from somewhere in that part of the world.

You know the old saying, Don’t take any wooden nickels? Well, you shouldn’t get suckered into buying a wooden iPad for $180 either.

Last month we talked a bit about a fake Apple Store in Kunming, China that was so convincing that some of the employees even though they worked for Apple. It was later discovered that there were about 22 other fake Apple Stores in Kunming and the authorities moved to close some of them down.

I am not sure what to make of this story. Either this guy was too cheap to buy a real MacBook Air and just some major stones to take it into a real Apple Store to get help from the Genius Bar, or the guy really thinks he has a real MacBook Air, and thought he was under warranty.

The amount of electronic gear that gets copied over in China never ceases to impress me. One of the things that most commonly get ripped off is the iPhone and other Apple gear. Some of the geeks at MIC Gadget were out shopping for gadgets and ran across this rip off.

I’ve seen a whole range of products from apparel to electronics to makeup of the counterfeit kind all bearing the markings of the Sleeping Giant that has already inevitably awakened. I appreciate the original “Made in China” stuff that I’ve got though, because you can get some high-quality stuff from there, if you know where to look and if you know who to trust.

Somedays, I just wish that Nintendo would throw in the towel on the hardware business and just make games for other platforms. Can you imagine being able to play all your favorite Mario games on your iPhone, for instance?

Now that you’ve got your shiny new iPad 2, how’d you like a miniature version of it. Oh yeah, you already have an iPod Touch, right? Well if you’re too cheap to buy actual Apple gadgets, you could always head over to China and pick up one of these mutants.

I have seen a bunch of stuff over the years with the brown and gold leather bearing the iconic Louis Vuitton logo. I have never liked any of the real Vuitton products that used the fabric, and I certainly don’t like this fake Chinese rip-off.

If you can make it, China can copy it: While other Japanese have been busy building another classic robot statue, and South Koreans are building a gigantic robot statue of their own, this orange Gundam copycat is being built in a theme park in Sichuan, China.

Fresh off the streets of China comes another no-name tablet that looks curiously like Apple’s iPad. From the sleek aluminum case, to the exact same 9.7-inch display found in the iPad, to the single round navigation button, this clone sure looks like the device it’s trying so hard to copy.

Let’s be honest here among friends. The only reason to buy knock off products is because we are too cheap to buy the real deal. You know what I mean guys, it’s like buying your girl that fake Coach purse with the “G” rather than the “C” thinking they won’t know the difference.

So did you know that Portal and Left 4 Dead actually came out back in the 1980s? Yeah, me neither. But the guys at Gamervision claim to have dug up these “lost” 1986 commercials for the two 21st-century games.

At first glance, Thomas the Tank Engine doesn’t have a lot going for him, badassery wise. He’s ugly, he’s made of old technology, he has no weapons and he can’t transform, overall useless in a fight.
