If you’re a geek or a techie among ignorant friends, here’s something you can try for a few laughs. Or a few punches in the face. Playboy21 of psp-hacks has cooked up a tiny program he calls TrickBrick.

Too cheap to buy a Nintendo Wii? Then look no further than the latest Wii knock-off to find its way from the streets of China. The V-Sports console from Hong Kong electronics outfit Rumdes does its best to copy the motion controller concept of Wii Sports, but without any of those pesky Nintendo games.

Nope, your eyes aren’t fooling you. This isn’t an actual iPhone. It’s the latest in a long line of iPhone knock-offs to find its way to our shores from China. The SciPhone isn’t the first iPhone clone out there, but it’s the first one I’ve seen that claims to run native Java applications.

Ever felt the need to leave a television on to make it look like somebody is home while you’re out of town? This quirky little invention does just one thing – simulate the effect of having left your TV turned on.

Here’s the latest, greatest, phoniest knock-off console to surface from China. While the MiWi video game system might steal some of its looks from the Nintendo Wii, that’s about where the similarities end. Created by China’s Eittek Electronics, the 9800 MiWi video game system comes with a pair of wireless controllers which do their best to mock Wii-motes.

Ever wonder what a Mario game would have looked like if it came out on the Atari 2600 instead of the NES? The guys over at Geekstir dug up this great clip which shows off what that serious visual downgrade would have done for the game.

Just the other day, I showed you guys a really crummy PS3 knock-off, but I think this videogaming oddity surely trumps that one. This strange little console can’t decide whether it wants to be an Xbox, a PlayStation 2, 3, or something else altogether.

On the eve of the in-store release of Apple’s sleek and sexy MacBook Air portable, it’s been revealed that an even thinner, tinier MacBook is in the works. The MacBook Paper is about twice the thickness of a sheet of paper, and it too fits inside of an envelope.

You’ve gotta hand it to those cheap Chinese knock-off manufacturers. At least they attempt to keep up with the latest gaming consoles when they crank out their crap. Case in point, this awful PS3 copy known as the PolyStation 3.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But sometimes, a crummy copy is just a crummy copy. Take for example, this poor Taiwanese knock-off of the Apple iPhone. This thing makes no bones about its source of inspiration.

Remember how the Mooninites from ATHF caused such a stir in Boston earlier this year? Can you imagine what those government fearmongers would do if they saw one of these clocks sitting on a shelf somewhere?

While these consoles from China may look slightly like their authentic counterparts, just one look under the hood, and you’ll see just how phony they really are. China’s ShenZhen LinFeng Electronics has cranked out a series of console knock-offs, imitating the look of all three generations of the Sony Playstation, the original Microsoft Xbox and even the Sega Saturn.

I’ll start out by saying this. Steve Jobs and company will no longer like you if you buy one of these. But for those of you who are too stingy to drop $149 to $199 on a real iPod Nano, here’s a cheap Chinese knock-off that’s a dead ringer for Apple’s chunky little 3rd-generation media player.

Leave it to the cheap Chinese knock-off makers to produce this red headed stepchild of an iPod and a mobile phone. While it sort of looks like an iPod Classic, it slides open to reveal a phone.

You’ve got to hand it to these junkmeisters for their creativity. Check out these slightly familiar video game consoles from a schlock shop down in Mexico. I’m not sure whether I like the X-Game 360 or the PowerStation 2 better, but these cheap packaging copies are clearly designed to fool some unsuspecting buyer into thinking they’re getting a great deal on a real console.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Every cool looking electronic device, from the Apple iPhone to the Sony PSP eventually gets its case design copied, usually with some sort of unrelated junk stuffed under the hood of the doppelgänger.
