Monkeys. Love ’em or hate ’em, they’ll always be the one animal species that’s closest to the human race. So what could be more fitting than sitting in a chair that’s made with the monkey’s favorite food in mind?
We’ve featured lots of cool and geeky handmade prop weapons here over the years, but I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve seen a gun made out of a banana. (Other than those times when I was a kid and just pretended a banana was a gun – or a telephone.)

Developed by Japan’s National Agricultural and Food Research Organization [JP] this award winning robot [JP] can delicately pluck individual strawberries from the vine.
Apparently, the Japanese enjoy vending machines so much that they keep coming up with new things to sell in them. Take for instance, Dole, who has just announced that they will be selling bananas through vending machines in Japan.
The guys over at kuriositas have posted these pics of some awesome Death Star inspired watermelons and cantaloupes.
All you need is a pen knife and a little patience, and you can make your own Death Star melons.
Apparently, the folks in Japan have some different ways of chilling out in the tub than what I’m familiar with. Banpresto Fruit Palette are light-up fake fruit that you float around your bathtub while you soak to help you let your mind drift.
