I tried to get my ten-year-old daughter to go with me and my son to see Guardians of the Galaxy in the theater. She said it looked “lame” and refused to go. I thought it was the best movie of the year and when it finally hit video, I fired it up, and she watched it with me.
Since Groot is a tree-like creature, it only makes sense to put him on top of another tree. He is the perfect Christmas tree topper. DeviantArt user witchcraftywolfen made this awesome Groot tree topper from some basic items.
Director James Gunn really loves to share cool Guardians of the Galaxy stuff on social media. I don’t think I have ever seen a director who enjoys sharing fan’s expressions of his work more. Recently he shared this picture of a life-sized Groot swing on his Tumblr.
What is it that makes a hyperviolent, anthropomorphized tree that says nothing more than “I am Groot” so charming? My money is on those big doe eyes. You know, I never realy gave much thought to chainsaw art until I saw Griffon Ramsey doing her thing in the video below. It’s fascinating. Watch as Ramsey works her magic and creates a sculpture of Groot using several chainsaws and some Eastern Red Cedar wood.
Guardians of the Galaxy was an awesome movie – I really liked everything about the movie. Like most people, I was rather sad to see (Spoiler Alert) Groot get crushed near the end of the film, but the ending credit scene with baby Groot growing back in a pot proved he wasn’t dead.
Guardians of the Galaxy was an awesome movie and a huge summer hit. The movie and its characters really resonated with cosplayers – especially when it comes to Groot. Now you can make an awesome Groot costume for about what it costs a family of four to go see a movie.

If you have read the comic books and seen the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, then you know all about the friendlier version of Groot, who reappeared in the Marvel Universe in 2006. Well, now you can make your own Baby Groot.
Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Groot is this generation’s Chewbacca and R2-D2, all in one adorable and indestructible package. If you’d love to dress up as Rocket Raccoon’s best buddy, hit up costume and prop maker Calen Hoffman aka Propcustomz, who recently made a kickass Groot costume.
In tribute to The Guardians of the Galaxy, Artist Danica Asurdzic, aka DeeArtist on DeviantArt, created this amazing Groot pendant. It is made of copper wire and gemstones and really captures his likeness perfectly.
