The never-ending post-apocalyptic nightmare has started to affect even the supply of gunpla. So what do you do if you can’t get your hands on a Gundam model? Be a Gundam model. Bandai Namco’s silly Narikiri (“roleplay”) line features boxer briefs and socks based on Amuro Ray’s RX-78 Gundam, Char’s MS-06S Zaku, and the mass production MS-06F Zaku from the first Mobile Suit Gundam show.

Prolific designer toymaker Fools Paradise is releasing a beastly figure that sees a rugby player wearing parts of the RX-78-2 Gundam as protective gear. The figure is called Lowfool Steel of League Team 01-GD. Yep, the toymakers are saying it’s for a robot rugby league, despite the face mask.

You wouldn’t download a mech, but you would and you can download a mecha’s mask. It’s all thanks to designers like Etsy seller SeberdrA, who offers STL files of masks and other facial cosplay accessories inspired by popular mecha, cyborgs, and other anime, video games, and science fiction characters.

Fans of Gundam have a new smartphone to look forward to. According to a tweet by @UniverseIce, gadget maker OPPO has partnered with Bandai Namco, to launch “a new smartphone.” This Twitter user has had reliable mobile leaks in the past, so there is a good chance this is legit.

One of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in person was the giant Gundam statue that most recently stood in the Odaiba section of Tokyo. Shortly after I visited the statue at the end of last year, it was dismantled, leaving an empty spot in front of the DiverCity Mall, and a hole in my heart.
