It can be scary to get a CT scan, whether you are an adult or a kid. God only knows what that radiation is doing to you. What if you end up like the Hulk? To ease the fears of children who need to endure a trip through the machine, New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital is one place to go.

If you have a fear or intense dislike for hospitals, then chances are you won’t appreciate the quirkiness behind the concept of the Hospitalis Restaurant, which is a hospital-themed restaurant.

When I hear about robots exterminating stuff, I immediately think about our robot overlords, which we will all serve in a near future if we’re not careful enough. The Xenex robot isn’t designed to be the demise of humankind – though it will exterminate most every germ you can throw at it.

We can’t all be like the superheroes we love to watch in those movies, but once in a while, a couple of human beings rise up to the occasion to become real-life superheroes – but of a different kind.

Panasonic has announced a new communication assistance robot called HOSPI-Rimo. Don’t worry, he quite literally isn’t armed. That means that it should be harder for this guy to kill you either – intentionally or by accident.

The hospital is one of my least favorite places in the world. I just get a negative vibe whenever I’m in one, although I haven’t really had a particularly traumatic experience inside one myself. What I have tried, though, was being admitted to a hospital a few years ago because I had been a running a high fever for several days straight.

In Nurse Jackie, one of the main characters, who was a pharmacist, got replaced by some drug dealing machine. It didn’t take long before he got his job back because the machine was stupid. This robot is anything but stupid – and pharmacists, hospital orderlies, and drug dealers, beware!

While this robot is designed to be used in hospitals to transport drugs, I think that something like this could be used in grocery stores to take care of your grocery shopping too. The MKR-003 is the brainchild of AIST, Keio University, and Muratec.
