Presumably using a healthy dose of The Force, filmmaker Glen Vivaris of the YouTube channel Glen Makes crafted this Star Wars-inspired workbench from an old IKEA desk. Most impressive! For reference, I turned my old IKEA desk into kindling, which I then used to light the sofa at my last bonfire party.

Clearly designed with deliciousness in mind, the LOAFA is the brainchild of rapper TOMM¥ €A$H in collaboration with artist Gab Bois and, allegedly, IKEA. Tommy recently took to Instagram to claim that IKEA told him if his post reached 10,000 comments, they’d make a limited run of the LOAFA.

I don’t know how many times I’ve thought to myself, “This room could really use an exploding Death Star lamp.” Well, now I can make one thanks to Instructables contributor MariaK64. She built this exploding Death Star lamp, modded from an IKEA pendant lamp.

Even if you’ve never purchased any IKEA furniture, you know that all of it requires some assembly. Apparently, that also goes for their food items as well. This Easter, they’re even asking customers to assemble their own chocolate bunnies, with the VÅRKÄNSLA self-assembly milk chocolate bunny.

People seem to have a lot of trouble assembling IKEA furniture, which I never quite understood. But whether or not you manage complete its construction, you can always try to turn it into something else. Like turning it into an R/C plane and just flying it away into the wild blue yonder.

You already know how things go when you and a friend try to build IKEA furniture. Now you can see how two robots do it. Watch as two ‘off the shelf’ industrial robotic arms put together a Stephan chair. 

Assembling that new cabinet or entertainment center can be a real pain in the butt. Mostly because you need an extra pair of arms. It helps if you are an octopus. If you are tired of assembling IKEA furniture, researchers have created a new robot to help.

One thing that’s great about IKEA furniture is that it’s so cheap that you can feel comfortable hacking it into other forms without fear of damaging your grandma’s prized antique Chippendale. Take, for example, this epic IKEA hack, which transformed a couple of ordinary stools into a functional kid’s bicycle.

If you’re like me,  you probably spend way too much time staring at a computer screen. There are some ways to reduce eyestrain, but I have to say that using IKEA’s Dioder LED light strips is one of the most effective since it’s kind of a low-tech, low-cost way of hacking your monitor into a Philips Ambilight.

I use IKEA Stolmen components as my library shelves, but this sweet setup makes me think that the Expedit series could be even more versatile. This convenient workstation was nested inside an Expedit bookshelf, allowing its owner to maximize the efficiency of his available space.

Hey, when you have a new baby you have to make some major sacrifices. Less video games, maybe free up some room in the home. Stuff like that. IKEA Hacker Ian from Los Angeles had to give up his home office when a new baby was on the way.

This isn’t the first time a company has tried incorporating technology into catalogs. Remember how Moosejaw released an app with their catalog that let shoppers (and the occasional pervert) see through the models’ clothing. Now IKEA is doing the same thing, minus the sexy models, replaced with lots of hard-to-assemble home furnishings.

While holding your iPad in your hands in typically the way you use a tablet, sometimes it’s nice to set it in a stand so you can watch movies, read recipes, or use it as a photo frame.

How’d you like a Portal in your bedroom? Well, this guy managed to put a pair of Portals in his walls, with a little help from IKEA.

I’ve seen pinhole cardboard cameras before, but this is the first time that I’ve seen something like this made by a furniture giant. It was a promotional item, but it makes me think that IKEA might be working on a product like this.

Even though you don’t really need a mouse pad to make your mouse work these days, most people still have one. I know that I like using my mouse pad with my desktop, no matter what the surface it’s resting on.
