It seems as if the hacking possibilities for the Xbox 360 Kinect just keep expanding. Today’s hack? How about a way to map your body into a real-time 3D image, then distort it.
A couple of students at the Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany are developing the video equivalent of the Content-Aware Fill feature in Photoshop CS5. In other words, their software can make objects invisible, and it does this in real-time.
Swedish artist Erik Johansson has both delighted and disappointed me today. His digital art and image manipulation is top notch, and anything influenced by Tetris is of course awesome. But as great as this piece is, it’s terribly sad, because I cannot play giant Tetris.
