Solar panels are pretty cool. You leave them out in the sun and instead of smelling awful like sun-baked carp, they give you electricity. The problem is that humans, in general, get pretty possessive about land.

Kyocera isn’t exactly well known in the smartphone industry. Until today that is, with the unveiling of the Echo, which has two 3.5″ touchscreens that can be used as a single 4.7″ screen with an equivalent resolution of 960 x 800.

Kyocera’s new W51K takes on the mobile phone market with the philosophy that “more is better.” As a matter of fact, it’s almost like the phone is an afterthought. The W51K crams in a plethora of multimedia functions including an MP3 player, video player, FM tuner, 2MP digital camera and even a TV tuner with an EPG program guide.
