So pet owners, you don’t have to worry – the FroliCat BOLT is basically a laser pointer for lazy people. Simply turn it on and projects a red dot and moves it in random patterns for 15 minutes, or until your cat (or dog, or baby) realizes what’s going on and attacks the gadget itself.

Takara Tomy’s latest remote-control car is definitely unique. Not only does the Aero Spider Laser drive on walls or ceilings, it goes where you tell it to using a light gun. The gun-shaped controller projects a bright red light beam (not sure it’s really a laser beam) where you want the car to go, and the car follows along.

I can’t say whether or not this Proton Pack will actually trap ghosts, but from this brief glimpse, there is one thing I can say for certain: this badass project is sure to score the top prize at Halloween costume contests, and isn’t that worth more than a ghost in a box?

Here’s another one of them MAVs that’ll soon be flying all over the place. A group of MIT students – Abe Bachrach, Anton de Winter, Ruije He, Garrett Hemann and Sam Prentice (I think I got +10 to my IQ after spelling their names) – developed an autonomous flight system that could sweep and analyze it’s environment in real-time.

This offbeat watch design is merely a concept at this point, but I actually kind of like the idea. The Alessi Laser Shot watch is supposed to project the current time on your wrist using (frickin’) laser beams.

The Sticky Light is an interactive plaything that’s capable of scanning movements in real time, and following them with a laser light beam. The tracking technology, developed by the Department of Information Physics at the University of Tokyo’s Komuro Laboratory, Sticky Light uses a laser diode, a photodetector and a pair of beam-steering mirrors to automatically trace your movements.

If you’ve ever played with an Airzooka, you know how much fun it can be to blow away your office-mates without actually causing any real harm. Now you can have a much better shot at hitting your victims with a perfect blast of air, thanks to a built-in laser pointer.

This giant green Christmas tree was recently sighted at the base of an office building in Tokyo, Japan. But unlike its Rockefeller Center counterpart, this one can entirely vanish with the flip of a switch. The bright green laser tree was on display from December 18 to 22 between the towers of the Yurakucho Marion building in the Tokyo’s fashionable Ginza district.
