These clever desk lamps get their inspiration from classic LEGO building blocks. Designed by Taiwan’s 25togo, these LED illuminated acrylic block lamps look just like a giant-size version of the popular plastic playthings. The blocks have a snap-off top layer that’s designed to hold pens, pencils and other office items.

Brick-Brick Correction Tape is a fake-o Lego that hides a roll of correction tape. If you have more than one, you can snap them together like Legos. The website says, “It is funny that you can’t realize it is a correction tape by its outlook.”

Too bad this Lego sushi is inedible, because it looks oddly delicious! I love the wasabi- that’s got to be a specialty color. I must be in serious need of a snack because I actually drooled a little bit when I saw these pictures.

The Snack & Stack cutlery set comes with a lego-esque fork, knife, and spoon with silicone handles that stack up for easy packing and, of course, a bit of fun. The Snack & Stack was designed by Winnif Pang.

LunaBlocks are giant Lego-like blocks that you can use to make furniture! LunaBlocks were designed by Thierry Nahon & Philippe Landecker, who say they are all about “the transformation and enlargement of bricks used in building games for children.”

With all the buzz about the new iPhone SDK, all kinds of nifty applications are starting to crawl out of the woodwork. Of all the coming programs, this LEGO construction concept application has to be one of my favorites.

While I don’t think these are officially sanctioned by LEGO, these whimsical MP3 players bear a striking resemblance to the colorful interlocking plastic blocks. Homade’s LEGO-esque media players cleverly conceal their controls into the raised dots on the surface of each block.

UTIII is one of the few console games out there that really lets gamers create their own unique maps. I don’t mean just moving a few things around like you can with Halo 3’s Forge mode.

Mario meets LEGO in these fun stop-motion clips hand animated by Nintendo fan Michael Hickox. Michael painstakingly shot thousands of individual frames to recreate the first two levels of the classic Super Mario Brothers game. The levels are surprisingly accurate reproductions of the game.

If you’ve ever visited the LEGO Store in downtown Chicago, you might have come across a life-size R2-D2 made from thousands of snap-together plastic blocks. While I thought that was impressive, this mammoth LEGO droid measures in at a whopping 8-feet tall.

When I came across this Guitar Hero controller made out of LEGO blocks, I was impressed. But once I found out it was fully-functional, I was blown away. Built by LEGO fanatic David McNeely (aka Blue Star LEGOs), this is the third in his series of working Guitar Hero controllers.

These colorful plastic pieces may look a lot like a LEGO blocks, but they’re actually tiny iPod docks. Each block even has some scrawny little speakers built in, making it completely self-contained. Since the speakers don’t even require external power, don’t expect much volume, but what do you expect from something this small?

I came across this cool 3-dimensional LEGO sculpture of everyone’s favorite video game plumber (sorry Luigi) over on TechEBlog this morning. It must have take days for the artist to painstakingly recreate all of Mario’s details.

The guys over at Brick Flick have painstakingly built a series of LEGO vignettes based on classic video games. The scenes include Mortal Kombat, Castlevania, Shadow of the Colossus, Contra, Excitebike and my personal Favorite, Katamari (Block)acy – shown above.

While these LEGO salt and pepper shakers don’t necessarily belong on my tech blog, I just thought they were too cool to not feature them. Just $4.99 (USD) buys you this pair of shakers that resemble the classic LEGO heads.
