Much to the delight of fans, LEGO has been selling some nice big sets for a while now, so that nerds with disposable income can build some epic models. That said, I hold out the tiniest bit of hope that LEGO will turn Vladimir van Hoek’s full-size working Lord of the Rings pinball machine into a massive set we can buy.

Are your crayons your precious? Do you hold them close to you in your cave as you mumble? Well, that’s weird. It’s okay though. Different strokes for different folks. Here’s a cool Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy Coloring Book so you can use those crayons to make colorful pictures. Having grown up playing Dungeons & Dragons with my cousins, I can tell you from experience that the game is quite fun and infuriating at the same time. It really depends on how big an a-hole your dungeon master is.

We’ve seen Sauron’s headquarters as a tasty cake. Here it is as a gingerbread house tower. According to Turkulainen, Jarno Koivula and his friend Roy made the menacing model using about 30lb. of gingerbread. Jarno and Roy made the tasty tower a gingerbread house making competition, which awarded the two as the winners. Hansel and Gretel don’t stand a chance in this tale.

Hobbits normally keep their homes pretty clean, but this Hobbit Hole is one that you do not want to visit. Unless you are a cat. Every other week, the folks at AWE me get some of Hollywood’s top prop makers to build one-of-a-kind items.

The One Ring Pillow is a ring to rule them all. Naps I mean. This pillow rules all naps. That is why we can’t destroy it. We must keep our precious and lay our head on it.

Refrigerator doors must have magnets. That’s just a fact of life. Artist PJ McQuade has the right set of magnets for geeks, featuring characters from Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and more. They include some of PJ’s Star Wars Christmas art, as well as mashups, including this badass Sith druglord. Breaking Bad would still be on air if it had Darth Heisenberg.

I have always been a fan of films that have an orchestral soundtrack behind the action on screen. Some films have normal music, and that’s cool, but an orchestra is my favorite. One of the cool things about The Lord of the Rings to me was the soundtrack.

We usually hear of fictional worlds brought to life in Minecraft, but there’s more than one way to skin a globe. A group called the Middle Earth Digital Elevation Model Project or MED-EM has been using a program called Outerra for the past 5 years to make a realistic model of the world of The Lord of the Rings and J.R.R.

Few things in all of geekdom hold as much promise and wonder as a geek with lots of time and lots of LEGO bricks. A couple LEGO builders named Alice Finch and David Frank teamed up to create a massive LEGO recreation of Rivendell from the Tolkien universe of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
