Mathmos Blob and Flow “Light Pets” have Glowing Eyes

Mathmos Blob and Flow “Light Pets” have Glowing Eyes
The latest lighting creation from the UK house of Mathmos is definitely unusual. Designed to look like a couple of globby alien heads, Blob and Flow are what Mathmos calls “touch-sensitive light pets.” I just call them “weird, but cool.” Just plug the shiny zinc alloy duo into your USB port or outlet, and their glowing eyeballs come to life.

Mathmos Fireflow: the Lava Lamp Goes Cordless
Remember lava lamps? This modern update on the classic lava lamp does away with cords, instead promoting its ooey-gooey goodness using fire. UK lighting maker Mathmos’ latest creation combines modern technology with eco-conscious wind power to create light without need for batteries or plug-in power. Mathmos LED Poplights Offer Colorful Light Under Glass
The Poplight is the latest LED lighting fixture to come from Mathmos, the same guys responsible for the original Lava Lamp back in the 1960s. Each Poplight is made from handblown glass and gradually fades between shades of blue, purple, violet, magenta, red, and back.

Mathmos Light Charms Glow When You’ve Got a Call

Mathmos Light Charms Glow When You’ve Got a Call
If you happen to have your cell phone ringer turned off, and you don’t care for the “vibrate” setting, you might want to check out these nifty things from London’s Mathmos. These tiny Light Charms clip onto your mobile phone and blink whenever a call is coming in (thanks to those lovely radio frequency emissions.) They’re available in both a mini light bulb version (in white or blue) and a mini lava lamp version (in red or blue) which is only appropriate since Mathmos was the original creator of the lava lamp back in the sixties.

9-Volt Lights Are Brilliantly Minimal
Designer Richard Lawson has created the oh-so-simple LED lights that clip on the top of an ordinary 9-volt battery. Originally designed for a Mathmos-sponsored design competition, they’re now available for you to purchase for the first tim.
