Disney Promote Wreck-It Ralph in London with 8-bit Lane

Disney Promote Wreck-It Ralph in London with 8-bit Lane
Wreck-It Ralph has been released in a lot of places worldwide, my country of residence included, and I really found it entertaining and enjoyable. If you like video games at the very least and played a couple of games when they were still all pixelly and in 8-bit form, then chances are you’ll like the movie, too.

Angry Birds Movie Flies Forward

Angry Birds Movie Flies Forward
If you’re a big fan of the Angry Birds video game series, you’re familiar with developer Rovio. Little tidbits have surfaced here and there that a film based on the popular franchise is in the works.

Grand Theft Auto: RISE is Live-Action GTA Goodness
Some of the new live-action short films that have been surfacing for video game such as Halo 4 and made more than a few gamers ache for high-quality Hollywood content based on our favorite video games.

Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender to Star in Video Game Inspired Movies

Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender to Star in Video Game Inspired Movies
Let’s be honest, Hollywood doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to adapting video game properties to movies. I’m looking directly at you Dwayne Johnson and that sorry excuse for a Doom movie. Now we have a couple more video game movies set to go into production starring some big names.

Ricky Bobby’s Wonder Bread Tracksuit up for Auction: If You Don’t Bid the Most, You’re Last

Ricky Bobby’s Wonder Bread Tracksuit up for Auction: If You Don’t Bid the Most, You’re Last
Thank you Lord baby Jesus… (and god bless the pygmies.) Ricky Bobby’s tracksuit from the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is up for auction via a movie memorabilia company called ScreenUsed. The suit is an actual Sparco racing suit worn by professional racers, or in this case, Will Ferrell, when he played NASCAR racer Ricky Bobby.

Hot Tub Cinema Lets You Enjoy Movies in Complete Relaxation

Hot Tub Cinema Lets You Enjoy Movies in Complete Relaxation
Outdoor cinemas were all the rage in the past, and it looks like they’re making a grand comeback. I’m not talking about drive-in theaters though. Rather, I’m talking about the Hot Tub Cinema.

Metal Gear Solid Movie in the Works

Metal Gear Solid Movie in the Works
Fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise of games who have been wanting to see Solid Snake on the big screen are apparently getting their wish. MGS is finally becoming a movie. There has been talk about the possibility for a while now – and it is now confirmed.

Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Shot Down at Warner Bros.

Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Shot Down at Warner Bros.
Stephen King is one of the most celebrated modern authors in the world. He has a huge number of books, movies, and TV shows to his credit. King is typically thought of as a horror writer, but some of my favorite stories King has ever written don’t necessarily fit the traditional horror genre.

The Avengers 2 Release Date Revealed

The Avengers 2 Release Date Revealed
The superhero flick The Avengers was one of the biggest earning films of the year and proved so popular planning for a sequel commenced right away (if not before the movie was released.) If you’re a big fan of superhero movies, you’ll be excited to hear that the launch date for the sequel to The Avengers has been offered up.

Marvel and Fox Haggle over Rights to Daredevil and Silver Surfer

Marvel and Fox Haggle over Rights to Daredevil and Silver Surfer
I think we can be honest in that one of the worst superhero flicks to be based on a comic book hero ever was Daredevil. As cool as the movie could’ve been, the finished product we saw in the 2003 film was rather cheesy.

E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Celebrates its 30th, Makes Millions Feel Really Old

E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Celebrates its 30th, Makes Millions Feel Really Old
If you grew up in the 80s, you saw E.T. at least a few times – it was practically required of any child of the era. Depending on how old you were, you may have even had some of the tie-in toys, including the bike with the plastic alien sitting in the milk carton up front.

Star Wars Fans Restore Luke Skywalker’s Tatooine Home

Star Wars Fans Restore Luke Skywalker’s Tatooine Home
I want this in my backyard so bad I can barely stand it. Odds are you remember Luke Skywalker’s old and crumbling looking homestead from Tatooine from the original Star Wars, where he lived with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru.

House to Play Evil CEO in RoboCop Remake?

House to Play Evil CEO in RoboCop Remake?
Looking back at the movies in the 80s, there are several that standout for me as some of my favorites growing up. One of my favorites was RoboCop. This movie was sort of cheesy even back then and had tons of violence – my kind of flick.

Return of the Jedi BTS Footage Shot in Sand-O-Vision

Return of the Jedi BTS Footage Shot in Sand-O-Vision
This may be the coolest bit of Star Wars geekery that I’ve ever seen. As the story goes, the video you can see below was shot back in 1982 by some young fans using some sort of video camera.

Iron Man 3 Filming Underway!

Iron Man 3 Filming Underway!
Like any good geek, I’ve seen just about every comic book based film that has come to the theater. Most of them haven’t been that great. Easily my favorite franchise from the comic book realm to come to the big screen has been Iron Man.

Toy Story 2 Once Deleted by Accident (and Again Because It Sucked)

Toy Story 2 Once Deleted by Accident (and Again Because It Sucked)
Anyone who uses a computer long enough eventually deletes a file by mistake they really wanted to keep. If you ever had this happen at work on a corporate network things get ugly really quick. I can only imagine when Pixar was working on Toy Story 2 and a bunch of the files were accidentally deleted, sphincter tone went up greatly within the studio.
