The guys selling these Pac-Man glass pipes have them listed as a “flo new art glass borosilicate pyrex glass PAC-MAN scene landscape video game 420 high score spoon pipe heady 420”, which certainly could be used for legitimate purposes – like for smoking small pieces of meat.

Note that the title doesn’t indicate that this is the easiest way to obtain awesome custom cupcakes; that, of course, means dragging yourself down to the nearest shop and placing an order. But the second-easiest way to achieve, say, Pac-Man perfection, is to make your own cupcakes of any sort, and just slap these purchasable covers on ’em.

These new jewelry designs look just like your favorite retro gaming characters, only made from schmancy, shiny crystals. Designed by Germany’s Team Tentakulus, these jewels feature the likenesses of Pac-Man, Tetris and Space Invaders crafted from exquisite Swarovski crystals.

Look, you’ve got to eat. It’s just one of those things that’s pretty much unavoidable if you’re interested in staying alive. That does not, however, mean you have to restrict yourself to boring foods that don’t look like Pac-Man.

I think we can all agree that biggest problem with retro video game characters is all of those jagged edges. I mean really, you could cut your hands on those sharp pixel corners. So what’s the solution?

You know, I was just thinking the other day how I’d like a Rubik’s cube for my desk. And while I’m partial to the Mega Man Rubik’s Cube (which, I presume, goes “pew pew pew”) the classicist in me is more partial to this Pac-Man Rubik’s Cube (which, naturally, goes “nom nom nom”).

I guarantee you this is the coolest video you’ll see today. All I can say is that it was pulled off at a “super-secret” festival in the Northeast of England, and that it involves a building, a projector and Pac-Man.

Certain images from the classics of gaming are burned indelibly into our brains; they are so iconic that they are recognizable not just to gamers, but to nearly anyone who has paid attention in the last couple of decades.

We may have moved past the blocky look of pixels in modern gaming, but the designs of squares on squares that mark classic games continue to have special places in the hearts of gamers. But what if those storied jaggy characters and interfaces were thrust into the real world?

I found this great time capsule image over on Flickr earlier today… I’m not sure where Flickr contributor Rotin managed to dig up this postcard image, but I can’t believe there was actually a Pac-Man Land attraction at the Six Flags Over Texas theme park back in the 1980s, and I never got to go.

If you have to have a lighter, it might as well be a Zippo… and if you have to have a Zippo, it might as well have Pac-Man on it. This is logic, people, born of science.

While Pac-Man and his family keeps on lapping up the praise – and coins – of gamers around the world, his brother Stap-Man has largely gone unnoticed, even though he’s actually useful. Stap-Man has spent countless hours helping the cubicle-inhabiting man, the equally unsung heroes of the modern era.

What would happen if Pac-Man was on twitter? A whole lot of trouble, that’s what. I laughed my ass off when I saw this hysterical illustration by Scott Hampson. Scott, will you please make T-shirts out of these?

Sure, Christmas is almost seven months away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start getting in the spirit really, really early. Especially if you really, really love your retro video games.
