Pioneer already has a bunch of DJ gear that is aimed at professional music-makers. The company has now announced some new gear that is aimed at the people dancing to music too. The new line of audio gear is called STEEZ and is targeted at the sort of folks that like to have dance competitions.

Pioneer Electronics has been in the business of making audio gear for decades now. When I was a kid my dad had a Pioneer stereo in the house. These days Pioneer makes all sorts of car audio gear like the cool AppRadio we saw a while back, and also makes all sort of DJ gear for the pro and amateur DJ.

I have been parked in my car on many occasions looking down at the small screen of my iPhone watching Netflix or Hulu. I generally always wish I had a larger screen to watch on. Back in April, I talked a bit about a new radio from Pioneer for your car that has a larger screen for viewing your iPhone apps called AppRadio.

I use my iPhone all the time in the car, particularly while I sit outside waiting for my kids to come out of school. I have on more than one occasion thought that I need some sort of radio or screen in my car that will let me shoot that video content from Hulu Plus or the web over to a larger screen.

Pioneer Electronics has a line of high-end gear that it sells under its Elite brand. That gear has Blu-ray players and AV receivers among other things and all of the gear is high-end and expensive. The line at one point had produced TVs as well, but those were discontinued.

Ah, landlines! Do they still exist? I thought we were in the future already. Well, people might still think that they have landlines, but a lot of users are now happy with their cellphones and VOIP handsets offered by Internet and cable companies instead of Ma Bell.

The latest surround sound system from Pioneer gets rid of the typical “receiver/amp” module that most home theater systems require. From what I can tell, they’ve hidden all the amplification and hookups inside of the subwoofer.

Pioneer today revealed a series of eight new plasma televisions, ranging ins size from 40 inches up to 60 inches. The new sets feature improved display panels which are said to offer 80% darker blacks than prior sets, as well as improved color rendition.

Pioneer today revealed their latest Blu-ray disc player, the Elite BDP-94HD. The BDP-94HD is a true second-generation Blu-ray player, featuring such niceties as CEC to control other devices control over HDMI cable. The player also has full support for Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 channel audio.

Pioneer Japan is showing off this new music system that can send audio signals to remote speakers around your house. Rather than using more modern wireless technologies like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, Pioneer opted to use power line signal transmission, to reduce the likelihood of over-the-air interference, and to simplify configuration.
