If you received a new video game or game console over the holidays and tried to get online to play, you may have been unable to connect. Both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live were attacked and knocked offline for much of Christmas Day.
Since Minecraft launched, we have seen some very awesome maps made in the game by geeks with a lot of time on their hands. Four new maps have been made in the game that celebrate some of the coolest games on the PlayStation consoles.
A few years ago Takara Tomy released the PlayStation History Collection 1, which consists of scale models of the four original PlayStation variants. With the console celebrating its 20th birthday this year, Takara Tomy has released the second batch of the collection.
Exactly 20 years ago today, Sony launched the original PlayStation console. To celebrate the console’s 20th birthday Sony will be releasing a limited-edition PlayStation 4 bundle. The console, along with the DualShock 4 and the PlayStation Camera will be dressed in the same dull gray case and bear the iconic four-color logo of its great grandfather.
The console and the controller will also have decorative etching featuring the four PlayStation face buttons and the number “2”.
We’ve featured a few specialized hacks and adapters that let you use a different controller on one gaming platform. But ConsoleTuner’s Titan One adapter might be able to fulfill several of your controller needs at once – even the ones you never thought you had.
There are adapters that let you use the PS2’s DualShock 2 controller with the Wii and Wii U. It appears there will be a similar adapter that will connect the PS3, PS4 and other USB controllers to Nintendo’s consoles.

Thanks to the Transformers’ 30th anniversary, we’ve seen Optimus Prime and Megatron turned into glam rockers and bears. Now they’re also video game consoles. Takara Tomy will be releasing limited edition action figures of Optimus Prime as a Sony PlayStation and Megatron as a Sega Genesis aka Mega Drive.

I mentioned yesterday that EA had rolled out a new subscription gaming service that was available for Xbox One gamers only called EA Access. I wondered at the time why it wasn’t going to land for the PS4 console as well.

Dust off your PS Move controllers. At the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC), Sony unveiled Project Morpheus, a virtual reality headset accessory for the PlayStation 4. The headset will work in conjunction with the PlayStation Camera, the DualShock 4 and the PS Move to bring VR to PlayStation users.
The current prototype uses its built-in accelerometer and gyroscope as well as the PlayStation Camera to achieve 360º head tracking.

Sony has announced another milestone for the PS4 game console. The company has revealed that the console has now reached the 6 million units sold mark. This achievement comes days after the console launched in Japan to very strong sales for the opening weekend.
