Back in 2013 we saw an old piano that was turned into a controller for Doom. The Sound Fighter project had a similar goal – play Street Fighter Alpha 3 on pianos. But whereas the Doom hack simply mapped controller buttons to piano keys, Sound Fighter mapped certain moves to chords.

A few years ago Takara Tomy released the PlayStation History Collection 1, which consists of scale models of the four original PlayStation variants. With the console celebrating its 20th birthday this year, Takara Tomy has released the second batch of the collection.

So you’ve got a couple of dead old video game consoles lying around. While you could just throw them in the trash, it’s better for you to recycle them. And what better than to turn your old game systems into Batman’s Tumbler?

Any gamer that has been around for more than a few years will remember the Sony PlayStation 2 and will have fond memories of countless hours spent gaming on the console. Throughout its 12 years of life, the venerable PS2 was one of the best-selling videogame consoles ever produced with over 150 million units sold since it debuted in 2000.

I could never be like PlayStation collector Ahans76 is. I buy plenty of video games and still have a number of PS2 games floating around from back in the day. Generally, I would have the games open to check out before we left the parking lot of wherever I bought it.

Portable console specialist Techknott has used his magical shrink ray on the best-selling console of all time. The result is still quite chunky, but you try holding a TV and the console in your hands.

Oh Sony. Sometimes you act like Brando. Your first generation PS3s are much better than the latter ones in terms of features. I think aside from the latest iPod Nano, the PS3 is the only major electronic product I know of that devolved as the years progressed.

If you’re into the Rock Band or Guitar Hero games but don’t want to lug around a full-size guitar when you’re popping over to a friend’s house to play, you might want to check out this compact guitar.

The Joytron Singibigi joystick is pretty unconventional looking for a home arcade controller. Instead of the typical black plastic box that you usually find these joysticks wrapped in, this one has a nice looking wood finish, reminiscent of the control panels on Japanese arcade machines.

So what do you need to throw down for a little goodtime fun with a PlayStation 2? Screen, console, controller, games (and snacks optional), yeah? That’s the list (sans popcorn) that one industrious modder came up with… and then he packed it all into a briefcase.

There’s something just so wrong it’s right about these tiny little Sony PlayStation controllers that you can hang all over the place. As shown in the picture above, these miniature felt PlayStation controllers look perfect hanging from your Sony PSP (or even better yet on your Nintendo DS).

The guitar controllers that come with Guitar Hero or Rock Band games are made of plastic and have a cheap feel. Then again they were probably made like that so you – and your kids – can jump around with it with ease.

Digitalsoap’s Playstation Dual Shock controller soap doesn’t play games, but it does help you keep squeaky clean. Plus, it’s most definitely wireless.

For all you headbangers out there, the guitars that come with the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games probably seem kind of tame lame. Well now you can truly rock out with this axe that’s more appropriate for your thrashing tendencies.
