Sony’s PlayStation 3 has certainly had its ups and downs since its debut, but even the hatiest of haters must have a hard time denying that the console looks pretty good. That sleek black finish complements any gaming setup.
Fairytale Fights will almost certainly be remembered. It’s all about using one fairy tale legend to beat up other fairy tale legends, in crazytown stages based on fairy tales, all while wielding the most ridiculous weapons imaginable.
Sony revealed a lot of things at E3, but a price cut wasn’t one of them. Now I don’t know if this new-old rumor has anything behind it, but Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia is claiming that “industry sources” are claiming that “a $100 price cut on the PS3 in mid-August, just prior the launch of Madden (8/18) and the start of the back to school shopping season.”
It’s a sad day for seller/mgs fan/sad person ids3remix, as he put up his limited edition gunmetal gray 40 GB Playstation 3 for sale on eBay. I think he really needs the money, stat, or else he wouldn’t be selling his beloved console.
A while back, I told you guys about a strange little PS3 puzzle game out of Japan called Gomibako. At the time, there was no indication that the oddball trash-stacking game would ever have any hope of making it stateside.
Sony’s stunning safari photo hunt game, Afrika, was left languishing when it came to an English-language release. Sony declined to take the title outside of Asia after it was released last August, but the game has been picked up by Natsume–of Harvest Moon fame–for release in other major markets later this year.
The guitar controllers that come with Guitar Hero or Rock Band games are made of plastic and have a cheap feel. Then again they were probably made like that so you – and your kids – can jump around with it with ease.
If you’re a tinkerer like me, you’ve probably cracked the case open on at least a few of your electronic gadgets to see what they look like on the inside. But I bet you’ve never seen the guts of your video game console quite like this.
It’s pretty obvious that’s an Xbox 360, but see if you can identify them all:
I’ll give you a clue.
Katamari Damacy is one of those game franchises that just seems pretty much perfect. It’s highly addictive and incredibly fun, particularly considering the games are based on a simple gimmick of rolling a stick ball around and collecting things (like cows, cars, and maybe even cabbages).
Anyone who owns an internet-capable device knows that browsing without a keyboard or a good keyboard interface is a pain in the ass. As a PSP and PS3 owner, I can say that that is the case with both systems, not to mention the pathetic, slow-ass connection on the PSP.
Looking for a serious arcade controller for your PlayStation 3? Then look no further than this new joystick from XCM.
The XCM Rumble Stick not only gives your PS3 games that authentic arcade feel, but offers built-in vibration feedback under the hood – a rarity for arcade sticks.
Konami’s just-announced Six Days in Fallujah is now reportedly Konami’s just-canceled game. The realistic shooter was set to recreate combat in the Iraq war in 2004. After a wave of complaints, a Konami rep has been quoted as saying they’ve “decided not to sell” Six Days in Fallujah, though no official press release has been spotted at this time.
Six Days in Fallujah was an unusual title in several key ways.
I’m torn. The opening cinematic from the upcoming PS3/360/PC version of the Ghostbusters game. The Ghostbusters themselves look pretty accurate. Waves of paranormal something exploding through the city? I’m down. But then I watch the people move, and a little piece of my childhood breaks off and floats away.
I think the unnatural movements in the footage are actually more pronounced because the characters look so good!
Thanks to breakthroughs in miniaturization, electronic gadgets keep getting tinier and tinier. But this is just ridiculous.
These teeny-weeny computers, consoles and consumer electronics are actually made out of paper. Created by papercraft artist Sonicscape Jun (the same guy who gave us the microscopic Nintendo DS Lite), these iconic paper models are amazingly detailed.
The tiny PlayStation 3 is stunningly precise, but I just love how the Xbox 360 model comes complete with an obsolete HD-DVD drive.
Gigabytes? Pssh. The Cell processor is the future. Of what exactly I don’t know, but it’s the future. The Cell is in each and every Playstation 3. Sony makes Playstation 3s. So if Sony says that 5GB of data equals 5 sunflowers then 5GB of data equals 5 sunflowers.
This groundbreaking technological term was first used in this epic commercial for the Playstation 3, in which the narrator – who is either Optimus Prime or a long-time smoker – asks us mere mortals, “With so much space on a single Blu-ray disc, the only thing you’ll need more of is time.”
In this case, no one can hear you scream. The Alien Assimilation Playstation 3 casemod is definitely going to give me nightmares tonight. I’m not really sure what’s going on in there, but it couldn’t possibly be good.
Tattoo artist / casemodder GivinTats, created this creepy looking case by hand-sculpting layers of epoxy putty – the same stuff use to mend dented car fenders.
