R2-D2 is one of the most beloved robots ever. Chances are that if you are reading this, you already own a piece of R2 merchandise or two. Some of you have tons of R2 items. But do you have a droid that can smoke meat?
If the rumors are true, Apple may be getting ready to announce the iPhone 5 next week, rendering your iPhone 4/4S obsolete. But there is a new hope, young Padawan. Accessory maker PowerA will soon release a line of officially licensed Star Wars cases for your phone.
We were just saying how R2-D2 gets all the good merchandise and how C-3PO gets none of it, and along comes another case in point. Check out these awesome R2-D2 cufflinks – perfect for adding a touch of droid to your nicest dress shirts.
I live in an area where being green and recycling isn’t really a big thing. In fact, I lived here for 10 years before I knew we even had a recycling center. In some communities, though, the push to be green is much more substantial.
As a maintenance droid, R2-D2 is pretty versatile, but I’ve never actually seen him fix a cup of coffee – until now. That’s right, what you’re looking at is what I believe to be the world’s first and only R2-D2 coffee maker.
These nails are not especially beautiful without their Star Wars coating, but with tiny astromech droids painted on them, they became wonderful! Plenty of people have painted their entire bodies to look like R2-D2 (what?) but not many have been able to pull of R2-D2 nails like this.
I have to say that this little R2-D2 ballerina outfit looks pretty cute, and it’s easy to recognize the original droid. It was designed by Leeloo who works as a designer for J!NX. It looks like an awesome Halloween costume or something you could wear to cosplay adventures.

A while back, we featured an awesome giant LEGO R2-D2 and a motorized LEGO R2-D2, but those were both custom builds. Isn’t it about time that R2-D2, the most famous droid from the Star Wars saga, got his own official LEGO set?
C-3PO and R2-D2 are precious to the Star Wars galaxy, having saved its citizens countless times and providing comic relief in a handful of instances. You can’t put a price on their contributions. Or can you?
