An engineer in Russia has decided that building humanoid robots has been done enough, so he decided to go and build his own two-legged ‘bots to take on Honda’s Asimo and other bipedal machines. Despite being built in Russia, what you’re looking at here is something I like to call “TurkeyBot.”

For a recent winter ice and snow celebration in the chilly city of Perm,Russia, somebody (presumably from Toyota), built this amazing ride entirely out of ice (plus a few red LEDs.)

When you think of the way a tank moves around, the main attribute that comes to mind is the wheel-driven treads we’re all used to seeing. But imagine if tank technology had gone this way.

But here’s a cool design that adds a touch of whimsy to the bottom of a downspout, taking the deluge of water that pours out and turning it into a little storm of its own.

A Team of Russian researchers are thinking big, as in science fiction premise big, building a conceptual mind-transfer android. NASA and General Motors teamed up a while back to create a humanoid robot called Robonaut 2 or R2. R2 is now on the International Space Station where it will be used to conduct repairs and maintenance outside the space station.
