These days, cities around the globe offer bicycles and scooters for rent. In Australia, Lime Scooters are one of the better known brands. Unfortunately, some of their scooters have started behaving badly. At least eight of the company’s e-scooters have been pulled from the streets after they were hacked to say sexual and other offensive things.

Mad scientist and all-around fun guy Colin Furze has created another crazy project. This powered micro scooter is a bit less dangerous than some of his previous builds, because he actually wanted to let his 5-year-old son ride on it. 

The folks at Kolelinia have created a unique personal mobility device called the Halfbike. It is basically a pedal-powered scooter or standing tricycle that is compact and light, so you can take it anywhere with you.

So you’re pushing your rugrat in a stroller and you wish you could make it more fun. Well, maybe you can. Bobtail converts strollers into a scooter in just a few seconds. You just attach it to the rear of the stroller and skate instead of walking while strolling.

Remember the WalkCar? Well, you can soon buy this scooter that resembles a laptop on wheels. Cocoa motors will be offering the WalkCar for pre-order starting on October 21. They have now perfected the design and here are the final specs: It is about the same size as a 13-inch laptop, weighs 6.2-pounds with a carbon fiber frame, and the electric motors can propel it to speeds of up to 10 mph.

I like to travel, but with all the people in the airport, getting your luggage through to the airplane can be a hassle. A cool autonomous robot suitcase from Ikap Robotics called Olive aims to alleviate some of this inconvenience.

Segway has a new personal transport vehicle that Paul Blart wouldn’t be able to use. The vehicle is called the Ninebot by Segway miniPro and it has a maximum weight capacity of 185 pounds. If you meet that weight capacity, it will haul you about 14 miles per charge at a max speed of 10 mph.

So you want a cool personal transporter that can carry your stuff. Bikes take up too much space. Segways are too slow and expensive. A group of industrial design students at California State University in Long Beach wanted to tackle these problems, so they invented the Nimble Urban: a human-powered scooter with a built-in cargo platform.

Product designer Ádám Török, from Sopron, Hungary, came up with the idea for this truly unique scooter. He made it for a school graduation project. His thinking is that in the future, most vehicles will be portable.

Anytime you travel, there are plenty of suitcases that you see that are on wheels to make them easier to carry. A new bag on wheels from a company called Olaf Scooters has turned up on Kickstarter that also puts you on wheels in the form of a kick scooter.

If you’ve fallen flat on your face one too many times while attempting to ride a Segway, then the Commute-Case may or may not be the right method of transportation for you.

Want a scooter that gives you storage space and an eco-friendly ride? Try the FEDDZ scooter. It was designed and built by Germany’s Emo-Bike and has an interesting design. It uses an electric motor built into the wheel hub, which leaves that hole in motorbike’s frame free to store your stuff.

So this is AeYo, and it’s a rollerblade-scooter-bicycle hybrid that offers you an alternative mode of transportation, aside from the usual bike, trike, or scooter.

It is called Lord Humungous and it was created by 52-year-old Lance Greathouse from Phoenix, Arizona. “It” is a flamethrower attached to a mobility scooter. Lord Humungous cost about $1000 and a month of labor to create.

Airports aren’t much fun, especially if your flight is delayed or you are rushing to make a connecting flight. That’s one of the reasons why this scooter luggage looks pretty cool. You can scoot around, with a coffee in one hand and making your way through the sea of people sauntering slowly to their gates.

If you’re waiting for me to say something about “This is the scooter you’re looking for,” don’t. I’m doing my darnedest not to use that overused droid meme ever again.
