Now here’s one for the books, and not in a very good way. Rayfish, a Thailand-based shoe company, is claiming that you can “grow your own sneakers” – or rather, the raw material that’s used to make your sneakers using – get this – genetically-engineered stingrays.
…or any other footwear. Walking barefoot can be quite dangerous. But not as dangerous as a walking bear foot. But that’s a fake topic for another fake day. Right now we’re looking at a pair of Vans slip-ons painted with the Hylian shield design from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
I was so busy looking at his awesome helmet, blaster rifle and jet pack, I have no recollection what Boba Fett was wearing on his feet. While I’m guessing he donned some sort of military boots, I’m pretty certain they didn’t look like this.
You may have already seen and drooled at those Iron Man and War Machine sneakers from a couple of years ago, but this pair may just make your heart burst, because it comes with a replica of the arc reactor from the Iron Man movies.
Social media is everywhere these days. You can’t watch a TV program, enter a store or pass a billboard without being asked to “Like” or “Follow” these entities on Facebook, Twitter or other social networking websites.
Majora’s Mask was one of my favorite Zelda games from back in the day – not quite topping The Ocarina of Time, but still a solid storyline with some excellent gameplay. While I had plenty of fun running around in this game, the moon that would get closer and closer to the town as night went on would always give me terrible nightmares.
I would so buy these heels for my wife, assuming she had a geeky bone in her body. Further assuming, she was coordinated enough to wear heels without breaking a leg (love you honey). These heels are hand-painted with a solid representation of characters and scenes from Star Wars.
You need an accessory if you are going to wear your Pip-Boy 3000 and I can’t think of anything better than these sneakers. Whether you are traveling to New Vegas or just one of the many vaults, they should get you across the American wastelands safely and still have some nice tread on them.
Nike+ is receiving a major update this year, which includes pressure sensors and an accelerometer. The sensors will be mounted inside dedicated basketball and training shoes. Of course, you’ll be able to track your progress directly on your iPhone.
I find Lady Gaga entertaining overall. She’s not just fun to watch when she performs; in fact, she’s fun to watch, period, because it’s like she’s on-stage 24/7 with the way she dresses. Ten-inch platforms? Transparent dresses?
Statement shirts, statement earrings, statement necklackes, statement doormats – all sorts of stuff that make a statement are everywhere these days. Statement shoes have long been in fashion as well, but I think I just saw the pair that make the loudest statement ever.
Kivadeno, an Etsy user, has created some awesome Super Mario Bros. Custom Vans. I know what you’re all thinking… you probably think that your nondescript white van with no windows serves you well enough in driving around for your window cleaning business, and that a Super Mario Bros.
These folding shoes are pretty clever. Perfect for those who like to go barefoot, but not all of the time. Or for anyone who carries spare shoes with them. And think of the space that you’ll save in your suitcase or backpack when you travel with these.
So I’m really not sure why you’d ever want to buy an iPhone case that looks like a flip-flop sandal, but that didn’t stop somebody in China from making them anyhow. It’s not like you’d ever want to wear your iPhone on your feet, would you?
Remember how a little while back, Nike finally released its Back to the Future-inspired Nike MAG sneakers. Sure, it was for a good cause, but you’re probably not wearing a pair unless you had had a few thousand dollars to spare.
If you can’t find – or afford – the official Super Mario Bros. Chuck Taylor shoes, here’s an equally sweet alternative courtesy of Etsy seller Felix Green aka InkheartKicks. Felix painted each pixel himself using acrylic paint, so not only are they beautiful, they’re waterproof as well.
