Clearly designed with deliciousness in mind, the LOAFA is the brainchild of rapper TOMM¥ €A$H in collaboration with artist Gab Bois and, allegedly, IKEA. Tommy recently took to Instagram to claim that IKEA told him if his post reached 10,000 comments, they’d make a limited run of the LOAFA.
Remember making pillow forts as a kid? Those were the days, weren’t they? The only thing missing? Magnus, the magnetic play couch. It can be assembled as a children’s sofa or disassembled and built into various fort configurations using its integrated magnet system.
I spent a significant portion my spare time playing games at arcades back in my youth. These days, I enjoy playing classic arcade games on a custom-built MAME cabinet I have in my mancave. But for those of you who prefer to play modern gaming systems rather than old ones, here’s a place to hang out while you get your joystick on.
Hugs are awesome. Humans need that kind of physical contact, especially when we are lonely or sad. Hugs really make everything better. Even animals do it. That’s probably why designer Eun Kyoung Lee created this piece of furniture for the A’ Design Award and Competition.
Living spaces are getting smaller and smaller unless you can afford to pay the premium for a larger apartment. It makes sense to only have essential furniture at home, since they’re bulky and will give your flat a cramped feeling if you’ve got too much of them.
Fans of the giant furballs known as Wookiees are going to love this Chewbacca Sofa. It comes from the design team at New York based Sentient. No Wookiees were actually harmed or made bald in the making of this hairy home decor.
So if you are sitting on your couch, watching The Walking Dead and then suddenly some real zombies burst through your window, you will be glad that you own this bulletproof couch with a built in gun safe.
While your cat might already have a sofa, dogs shouldn’t feel left out from your living room much longer. While you certainly can let your pooch up on the couch and sit on your lap or cushions, I’m sure some of you prefer to keep the dog hair away from where our guests sit.
How often do you end up falling asleep on your keyboard? Hopefully not very often. It’s pretty uncomfortable and can make your cheek look like a grid of squares. The folks at ZO-loft (which also happens to be the name of an antidepressant) designed this sofa bed to make the whole process a bit more comfortable.
After seeing Aladdin whisk Jasmine off to the clouds and around the world on his magic carpet, I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to hold puffs of clouds in my hands. Not that you’d be able to really hold onto them, since they’re essentially just water vapor with particulate matter and dust, but anyway…
Designer Lubo Majer took things a little further with Cirrus, a cloud-themed set of furniture that lets you lay down not on a bed of roses, but on a bed of clouds.
There’s something awesome about comfortable chairs, in which you can spend hours reading, working or simply chilling. This concept chair integrates a blanket into an all-in-one comfy package, allowing you to take advantage of its cuddliness.
While they might have different upholstery, most sofas and couches look pretty similar. From time to time, though, you come across something very different. This cactus couch is definitely unusual, because cacti usually don’t make good sitting places.
I remember playing a whole lot of Tetris back when the Nintendo Famicom (NES) was still the gaming console to have. It was even a game my parents loved playing, considering it’s a bit on the tame side and requires that players use their old noodle.
Check out this one-of-a-kind sofa, made up to look like the old Sega Master System. It looks just like the console, but it’s larger and way more comfy. I could play games on this thing all day in comfort and then take a nice long nap.
