A few years ago Takara Tomy released the PlayStation History Collection 1, which consists of scale models of the four original PlayStation variants. With the console celebrating its 20th birthday this year, Takara Tomy has released the second batch of the collection.
Exactly 20 years ago today, Sony launched the original PlayStation console. To celebrate the console’s 20th birthday Sony will be releasing a limited-edition PlayStation 4 bundle. The console, along with the DualShock 4 and the PlayStation Camera will be dressed in the same dull gray case and bear the iconic four-color logo of its great grandfather.
The console and the controller will also have decorative etching featuring the four PlayStation face buttons and the number “2”.
It’s one thing to say that a smartphone can survive water splashes; it’s another altogether to say that the phone can actually work underwater. That is exactly what Sony promised with the Xperia Z3 smartphone that runs Android.
This month Sony unveiled its Xperia Z3 line of mobile devices. To make these devices enticing, Sony promised that the three devices – the Z3, the Z3 Compact phone and the Z3 Tablet Compact – will be the only mobile devices to support PS4 Remote Play, the same system that allows PS Vita to stream games from the PS4.
Here’s a commercial for the Z3 touting its support for PS4 Remote Play:
However, XDA Forums member XperiaPlaystation claims that he’s come up with software that will bestow the supposedly exclusive feature to all devices running Android 4.0
My daughter has a tablet and the only thing she does on it is play Minecraft. If she wants to play on my phone, Minecraft is the game she goes after. Sony may have just hit one out of the park by offering Minecraft for the PS Vita.

I mentioned yesterday that EA had rolled out a new subscription gaming service that was available for Xbox One gamers only called EA Access. I wondered at the time why it wasn’t going to land for the PS4 console as well.
The original PlayStation and its controllers were released before Sony fell in love with white and black hardware. I don’t know why it came in what I like to call obsolete gray, but it did, and that’s the color that reminds many gamers of countless hours spent on gaming Sony’s console.
Game console makers have been rushing to get their consoles ready to get into China after the announcement that consoles would be allowed to be sold in China after being banned since 2000. China had banned the consoles because it claimed that the game systems had bad health effects for gamers.
Sony is yet again taking the time to brag about how many PS4 game consoles it has sold. In early March, Sony announced that it had sold 6 million PS4 consoles. Now only about a month and a half later, Sony has racked up another million units sold.
If you don’t own a gaming PC, an Xbox One or 360, you may be bummed out that you won’t get your hands on the game Titanfall from Respawn Entertainment. It’s definitely one of the coolest games that have hit those platforms in a long time.
Late last month we mentioned that a Sony software manager overseas had tipped that The Last of Us would be heading to the PS4 game console this summer. At the time, we had no other proof that the game was in the works for the new console.
Today is April 1st, and that means there will be lots of pranks floating around online today. This is one of the more irritating days to be a gadget writer, some of the pranks are obvious, but at times they can be subtle and you end up writing about something that is fake that you think is real.
