The internet is a strange and wonderful place. The nature of its persistent storage means that you sometimes discover things within 10 seconds of them going live, and other times 10 years after they’re posted. This is definitely one of those 10+ year situations, but it’s too good not to share.
From 1998 to 2008, the Las Vegas Hilton featured an attraction called Star Trek: The Experience. I remember going to it during a Vegas vacation, and it was quite cheesy- but in a good way. But if you have fond memories of it, or just want to bring a little bit of Trek into your home, check this out.
It turns out that after the attraction closed, they sold off a bunch of never-used carpet remnants, and someone has turned these into sweet space-themed area rugs.
If you’re a Star Trek fan, here’s something a little different for your collection. These kits from OzpinsFactory let you assemble your own starships from sheets of laser-cut birch plywood.
These models are really nifty, and come in a variety of designs based on ships from the Trek universe.
The next time you want your “Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.” you may want to serve it in this awesome Star Trek Captain’s Tea Set. Who said that tea parties were just for little girls? You calling Jean-Luc a little girl?
You know what the trouble is with all the tribble collectible toys out there? They’re not interactive. Well, that’s about to change, thanks to the guys from Science Division, who are showing off a cuddly Star Trek tribble that works in concert with a smartphone app to perform some basic duties aboard your personal starship.
Each 8″ interactive tribble can vibrate, makes a variety of cute cooing and purring sounds, and has three modes of operation:
At Ease: Your Tribble is not searching for Klingons.
Engineering plays a critical role in the operation of every space vessel. But where do you keep track of your notes on tuning your warp core, or the right settings to keep your transporter from turning your crewmates inside out?
A few years back we talked about the Star Trek TNG Captain Picard Facepalm bust. Picard gave Star Trek fans many things to like and perhaps the most Picardian thing he did was usher in the facepalm meme that we all find useful when someone does something so stupid that words fail us.
The first facepalm bust was painted to give it a more lifelike look.
When it comes to Star Trek, I am Team Picard. That said, I do like the new Star Trek films as well. Action figure collectors and Star Trek fans will want to add this impressive Jean-Luc Picard action figure to their collection.
QMX’s photo-perfect action figure of TNG’s Captain is 1/6th scale (12″ tall), and it’s not cheap at $199.99.
DS9 was far from my favorite Star Trek show. I’m still Team Picard. But fans of Star Trek: Deep Space 9 might recall the prototype battleship that was stationed there called the Defiant. This wasn’t a big ship like the Enterprise, but a smaller warship that had cloaking tech, and the ability to smash enemies like the Borg.
Eaglemoss Collectibles has a nifty scale model of the warship that’s perfect for an Star Trek collection.
Fans of both Settlers of Catan and Star Trek can set their phasers to fun as they roll the dice in search of resources thanks to a mashup of both franchises in the Star Trek Catan board game.
If you are sick of trading sheep for wood, this edition of the popular board game will be a breath of fresh air.
If you’re like me, and love both Star Trek and tiki drinks, today is your lucky day. That’s because we can now buy this awesome set of Geeki Tiki tumblers inspired by The Original Series.
The set of six officially-licensed 14oz.
James T. Kirk has commanded several versions of the Starship Enterprise, now let him command your feet. Beam these Captain Kirk crew socks onto your feet today. Your sock drawer needs a tough, no-nonsense leader to keep the rest of your socks in line.
What do Captain Kirk’s butt and tribbles have in common? No not that. Get your head out of the gutter. The answer is that both have spent time on the starship Enterprise’s Captain’s chair. That chair is an iconic piece of sci-fi and now you can own a scaled-down replica that looks just like the real thing.
QMx’s 1:6 scale replica of Captain Kirk’s favorite chair looks sweet.
These Star Trek Spock Socks are completely logical. Allow me to channel my inner Dr. Seuss. Spock socks shock. They also rock. Whether on the outer rim or in dry dock. Be one of the flock and dress in Spock.
