This MK-4 tank computer is pretty sweet. After all, this thing is a… tank! The guy who built it must have been tanked after completing this. (Sorry.) This fully-functional PC is finished in all aluminum with aluminum strips cut out to form the treads of the tank.

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University are working on a rescue robot that can take on both humanoid and tank forms like a Transformer. No word on whether it is a Decepticon or an Autobot. It’s called CHIMP (CMU Highly Intelligent Mobile Platform) and it can work like a human (or monkey) when it needs to climb a ladder and such.

These awesome little R/C tanks can be controlled with your iOS mobile devices. That means that you can have tank wars with all of your gadget-obsessed friends and family. They are modeled on real German army tanks used during Second World War, but these ones are palm-sized.

When you think of the way a tank moves around, the main attribute that comes to mind is the wheel-driven treads we’re all used to seeing. But imagine if tank technology had gone this way.

Most of us weren’t born yet back in the 1950s, but it was definitely a time long before modern remote-controlled electronic playthings. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t some cool toys back in the day – like this awesome old-school metal tank I spotted over on Etsy.

Cats are cute. Maybe the cutest thing ever. They are even cuter when they are piloting cardboard military vehicles like this one. You can call it the Meow 1 Abrams if you want. Or the Kitty Panzer.

I normally don’t wear slippers on my feet, but if I had a pair of these Panzer Tiger tank slippers, I’d wear them every day. Heck, I’d wear them when I head out of the house  to the grocery store, and to the Starbucks, and to the park, and to the movies… you get my drift.

Whether or not you support the investment in military technology, you have to admit that DARPA comes up with some amazing technologies. A recent DARPA project is the Captive Air Amphibious Transporter (CAAT), which works much like a tank, except it floats on water.

I don’t know about you, but ever since I saw the 1984 movie called Tank with James Garner, I’ve had a desire to drive a tank for myself. I think it would be awesome to drive the tank and if they let me shoot its gigantic gun, I might have a nerdgasm.

Are you ready to ride your skateboard like it is a tank? Check out Rockboard’s Descender board. This baby is outfitted with treads that are wrapped around heavy-duty rollers. That means that it will go over terrain that normal skateboards could never handle.

Most of us already have enough screwdrivers and multi-tools to fill an entire toolbox or utility drawer. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have just one more, right? Especially one that looks like a tiny tank.

Remember that futuristic concept watch I told you about yesterday, FOUR? It had all the makings of a great watch, except that it was way too complicated for my taste.

This year was a particularly tough one for me. I had a lot of things I had to hurdle through, from personal matters to work-related stuff. But now that it’s nearing the end of the year, I’d like to say that 2011 had it’s good times despite all the bad.

If you have one of those tiny little yapping dogs and plan to take him or her out Trick or Treating this year, this is the best costume ever. Turn that little beast into a tank.

Ever since I first saw motorized skateboards, I always thought that there were a really great way to get around. Now that I’m older and saner, I know for a fact that these contraptions can’t be too safe, especially when you don’t have many ways of slowing down.

This amazingly deadly robot was built by Robert Beatty and his daughters. Note to all of his daughter’s future suitors… Run! This thing is called Mechatron. It sports mecanum wheels and has a deadly electric gun mounted on top.
