The last time I really thought about a spinning top was when DiCaprio spun one in Inception. That top was supposed to help him figure out if he was in a dream or reality. All I know is the ending left me wondering what the deal was.
This is something you should not try at home, even though it is tempting. This high-speed spinning toy can reach over 100,000 RPMs once spun up to speed with compressed air, but the what makes it dangerous are the attached razor blades.
This gamer girl top looks great and is super stylish. Perfect for the geeky girl who wants stripes on top and an old school NES controller at her waist. The D-Pad and buttons are in the perfect spots for tickling, so I think I would be tempted to do some gentle button mashing here.
Most people express themselves by talking about whatever’s on their mind or by writing about it. Others create works of art and resort to painting or sculpting to make some sort of physical representation of what they’re feeling or thinking.
If you’ve seen the movie Inception, then you probably already know about his spinning top. If you haven’t, then I’m not about to go spoil the movie for you.
However, I am going to talk about that top he keeps on spinning.
This flying saucer-like apparatus from Bandai is a modern day take on a classic kids’ toy – the spinning top.
Just flip open the collapsing handle on the Bandai Luminodisc and give it a spin. As it goes round and round, a persistence-of-vision LED display tells you how many rotations your spin made.

The guys from online shop MyVirtualZone just tipped me off to these little playthings. The appropriately named Laser Top has a little laser beam that projects out of the side as you spin it around.
While I actually think the effect of the LEDs and the laser are pretty cool when its spinning, I think that the music that plays as it goes is about as ridiculous as it gets.
