Last year we heard of Microsoft Research’s prototype keyboard that used infrared sensors to turn the entire area above the keys into a multitouch surface. Now a company called Innopresso is raising funds on Indiegogo for a similar device called the Moky, short for “motion keyboard.”

If you are the sort of geek that doesn’t care for Android or iOS, but wants a tablet, there aren’t too many options for you today. One of the options, that didn’t do well on the market, is the HP TouchPad – packing webOS.

While I’m the first to admit that I don’t spend much time looking at my keyboard or touchpad, since I touch type, there’s a reason for having them visible, especially when it’s late at night and you can’t find the right keys.

HP failed miserably with its TouchPad tablet making zero splash on the tablet market. The TouchPad quickly failed and the only thing that was good about the entire thing was that the fire sale that sold off the remaining TouchPad inventory saw people getting the tablets for under $100 – and those tablets are now being hacked to run Android.

I have never been able to work well with a touchpad on a notebook computer. I prefer a mouse that I can move around with more accuracy and speed. I know more than a few folks that love the touchpad though, and if you are one of those touchpad lovers, Logitech’s latest is for you.

Acer just released information about their Aspire Ethos 8951G and 5951G laptop models which feature a cool idea – a removable touchpad that doubles as a remote control. It’s going to be an interesting feature and unsurprisingly, the laptops look pretty good as well.

From the House of Insane Ideas comes this feature packed peripheral for geeks on the go. The Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard has 69 LED-backlit keys, and what Brando claims is the “World’s First Touchpad”. Oh Brando.
