Yesterday Verizon kicked off a cool offer for customers. They’re offering up free Star Wars themed Google Cardboard viewers. Verizon is offering customers viewers in four different styles. You can choose from BB-8, R2-D2, Kylo Ren, and Stormtrooper flavors.

Right now, “broadband” is defined as 4Mbps or higher. These days, 4Mbps is also known by such names as “slower than using a pigeon,” “glacial,” and “a great excuse for why you suck at any given FPS.”

I’ll admit when I first saw this I looked around to see if it was some sort of prank for April Fools’ Day. However, it seems to be legit according to the reports out there. Why exactly does this seem to goo to be true?

If you are in need of a new tablet that has access to mobile broadband, a new offering is available as of today at Verizon. The Google Nexus 7 tablet has arrived at Verizon and you can get it with or without a contract.

Here it is geeks and geekettes, the likely death of the $199 price point for high-end smartphones. Verizon Wireless has announced that the Galaxy Nexus from Samsung will be priced at $299(USD) when it lands – and that’s with a 2 year contract.

HTC has launched a new smartphone that will be a Verizon exclusive at least for a while called the Rezound. For some reason the name reminds me of Scooby Doo trying to say resound. The smartphone runs Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” and will get an update to 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” down the road.

All I have to do is write the name iFixit and most geeks will know that we are about to take a gander at the juicy insides of one gadget or another. iFixit has now taken the new iPhone 4 on Verizon and ripped it apart.

I think we all knew that the iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless was going to be huge. The phone hit pre-order for existing customers this week and quickly sold in droves and Verizon ended the pre-order offer.

If you are a Mac geek that lives in an area that can get an LTE signal you may not be happy that Verizon doesn’t support you on their 4G network. The modems currently offered by the wireless carrier only support Windows machines.

A while back, Verizon sent me over a Galaxy Tab and I have been using the thing for about a month now and comparing it to my iPad. I can say that short of missing some of the screen space for gaming when using the Tab, I really think that most of us can get by with the Tab just as easily as the iPad.

Verizon was busted not too long ago for fleecing their customers for extra data charges going back for years. The charges were apparently tacked onto the bills of users who didn’t have data plans or went over their meager allotment of data.

I have spend my fare share of time expressing how much I dislike AT&T’s quality of service in my area. Apparently, AT&T isn’t the only company to take advantage of its customers and provide poor service.

There’s been some buzz floating around the web about a special version of the Verizon Droid 2, decked out to look like the little R2 unit that inspired its name. The special-edition phone isn’t supposed to be shown until the start of tomorrow’s Celebration V show, but I stumbled onto this picture one day early, snapped by the folks at R2-D2 Central.
