VIA Technologies has announced a new reference design for a extremely portable notebook PC, dubbed the NanoBook. The standard build of the system may weigh in at less than 2 pounds, but boasts a pretty solid feature set for its size.

Just when you thought desktop PCs couldn’t get any smaller, VIA comes along and introduces an insanely tiny new x86 motherboard platform. VIA’s ultra-mini Pico-ITX mainboards measure in at just under 3″ x 4″ – about 75% smaller than the Mini-ITX format.
