Last year I talked a bit about some sweet new Star Wars games that were landing in arcades around the world. The games are called Star Wars Battle Pods, and if you have deep pockets and really hate standing in line, you can now buy these for your home.

These retro video game coasters are engraved in aluminum and perfect for your counter top. They will remind you of the old days, when a high score meant everything and you were robbed of all your quarters to get that honor.

My grandmother used to do a lot of crochet when I was growing up. She was always making me some sort of socks or a blanket. I hated those blankets. Not only did they have tons of holes to let cold air in, they were itchy as well.

As far as I know, we never really got any good horror movie games on the Atari 800. But if we had gotten some good horror games for the system, they would have been very much like this version of The Shining, done in the old Atari 8-bit style by Pippin Barr.

Old school gamers who spent time playing Super Mario Bros. will recognize this screen without any thought. This was one of the hottest games back in the ’80s and anyone lucky enough to have a Nintendo played this thing all the time.

I’m not much of a hunter because I don’t like shooting things in real life that are living and breathing. I do like games that let me shoot things though. One of those games that I enjoy playing when I am at the theater waiting for my movie to start is the arcade version of Big Buck Hunter.

Growing up in the ’80s was great; we had some awesomely cheesy movies that I still love to this day. One of those awesomely cheesy movies was Death Race 2000 (which actually came out in 1975).

Despite being over 10 years old, World of Warcraft is still one of the most popular MMO games on the planet, even if it might not be quite as popular today as it used to be.

Kids are bizarre little creatures. One of the things a parent has to do is realize that they are often completely irrational, and there is no way to rationalize with them. I have had a conversation with my son more than once about not calling me at work with an emergency when that emergency is that the Wi-Fi is down and he can’t play on Xbox Live.

Minecraft is a really cool game that has always reminded me of virtual LEGO bricks. You can build pretty much anything you can dream up in the game. In fact, we have seen Minecraft players make some very cool Star Wars scenes in the past, such as the Death Star Trench run.

I like to play games on my PC, and more often than not if I set down to play it’s for some Civilization V gaming. I love that game, and when I heard that a new Civ game was coming this fall, I got all excited.

Growing up, nothing in the world made me clean my room faster on a Saturday than the promise of lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. As soon as we got there, I headed straight for the Star Wars arcade game and spent all my tokens in about 10 minutes trying to dominate that game and blow up the Death Star.

Assassin’s Creed is one of the cooler video game franchises out there. I particularly liked the Black Flag installment and played it a lot. Mostly I floated around, sinking ships and stealing islands from the British.
