In the never-ending quest to run the PC classic video game Doom on absolutely everything, YouTuber James ‘Ancient’ Brown managed to get the game playing on wearable ring. We’ve come so far. Perhaps too far, but there’s no turning back now.

Because it’s important that your footwear expresses your video game fandom (wait, what?), Crocs has teamed up with Minecraft to produce a collection inspired by the game. Releasing February 16th, the collection includes five different styles: adult-sized classic clog, elevated clog, and slide, and kid’s size classic and elevated clog.

By feeding the original polygonal images from a Sega Saturn emulator into an image-to-image mode of the Stable Diffusion text-to-image deep learning model, artist Colin Williamson was able to turn 1993’s Virtua Fighter characters from polygonal people into much more realistic versions of themselves.

Because brilliant ideas come in all flavors, video game hardware modder and YouTuber Peter Knetter went and constructed himself a sandwich from a GameCube controller. Yum! It’s not actually edible, though, all the sandwich bits are made out of wax or plastic, but it is a functional controller.

Because gaming should be all-inclusive, inventor Akaki Kuumeri has created a snap-on attachment for Playstation 4 DualShock controllers that allow a player to operate all the peripheral’s buttons one-handed. The mod, which is constructed entirely from 3D printed pieces, even enables the use of the right thumbstick (typically for adjusting camera view) by moving the whole controller around a hinged pivot resting against your leg.

What good is virtual reality if it can still be distinguished from actual reality? So companies are hard at work trying to make the VR experience as immersive as possible. And one of those companies is Ekto One, which is developing a pair of VR boots that allow a user to actually walk without moving forward.
