London-based Ravensbourne University student Holly Grounds has developed ramen noodle packaging that dissolves in hot water in order to help cut down on plastic waste. That’s a great idea! Also, I wonder if her parents had any idea they were *this close* to naming their daughter Holy Grounds.

NASA and Bear Grylls have proven that it’s possible to drink pee. If Janicki Industries has its way, someday we’ll be drinking water from poop and other waste materials too. Its OmniProcessor impressed no less than Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, who even drank some of the poop-sourced water.

Humans are wasteful. We throw away so much food without a thought as to others who are not so fortunate. Well, I don’t have an answer for feeding the world, but this concept gadget wants to take your waste and feed plants with it instead.

Batteries suck. You have to have the right kind for your device, they have to be charged and they are prone to failure way too often. Forget batteries. What we need is a robot that can generate power by eating leaves and dirt, maybe even urine and feces, since humanity has those in spades.

Ask any woman that question and you can expect any one or a combination of these responses: “Are you insane?” Puzzled look followed by a long silence. Scrunched-up nose and a dismissive shrug. “Sour milk? Gross!”

Astronauts take some really cool photos of the space station and other stuff when they are in orbit. I always sort of assumed that the cameras used were already on the ISS and whoever wanted to shoot some cool space pics would just borrow one.
