LED Alarm Clock is Pure as the Driven Snow

LED Alarm Clock is Pure as the Driven Snow
I just love the clean, minimal design of this white-on-white LED clock from Japan. The simple dot-matrix display is powered by bright white LEDs layered beneath a clear and white acrylic shell. The clock offers alarm capability, and can be automatically set via a radio signal (although it’s possible this feature only works in Japan).

White PS3 Coming to America?

White PS3 Coming to America?
Looks like the Ceramic White color PlayStation 3 (model CECHH01) might be headed to U.S. shores afterall. Originally revealed back in October for release in Asia, updated documents and pictures surfaced on the us FCC website which could indicate that it’s on its way to North America now.

This cool decorative tape lets you leave messages by blacking out the the white areas. A brilliantly simple design concept, the tape works in pretty much any language thanks to its free-form display concept. Perfect for labeling boxes, temporary signage, creating impromptu artworks or modern graffiti, the tape comes in either a dot-matrix or segmented style.

Starck Palindrome Watches a Study in Simplicity

Starck Palindrome Watches a Study in Simplicity
Design virtuoso Philippe Starck continues to crank out some beautifully minimal timepieces, and these are no exception. The Starck Palindrome series offers up a design so clean that it doesn’t even look like it has a minute hand at first glance.

Analog Clock Really Wants to be Digital

Analog Clock Really Wants to be Digital
When turned off, this minimal white-on-white wall clock might seem a bit hard to read. But once the bright blue-green hands are switched on, the display come to life. Designed by Shigenori Ichimura and Tetsu Miyazawa of Japan’s &design, the clock draws its inspiration from the segments of an LED display.

Nooka Zirc LCD Watches Tell Time With Dots and Dashes

Nooka Zirc LCD Watches Tell Time With Dots and Dashes
The latest and greatest watches from New York watchmaker Nooka offer a modern minimal design that stands out from the crowd. I really dig the asymmetrical placement of the watch case that makes them sit off-center on your arm.

Slan LED Watches: the Bold and the Beautiful

Slan LED Watches: the Bold and the Beautiful
The slick black case and bright, easy-to-read displays on these Slan LED watches really caught my eye. There’s just something so refreshing about a digital watch that’s just clean and simple, unencumbered by extraneous information or newfangled display paradigms.

Supper Sound System Sounds Scrumptious

Supper Sound System Sounds Scrumptious
Japan’s Taguchi Craft company is readying a new sound system that’s designed to looks like pieces you might find on your dining table. The Supper Sound System is a series of speakers mounted inside of vessels that look like ceramic tumblers and bottles along with a base station that looks like a serving dish.

Worst. Lamp. Ever.

Worst. Lamp. Ever.
On paper, the idea of a little desktop doggie lamp might be cute, but somewhere along the line it just all went so horribly awry. There’s just absolutely nothing that’s right about this rechargeable LED dog lamp.

40gb PS3: Sony’s Great White Hope

40gb PS3: Sony’s Great White Hope
Sony’s PlayStation 3 console has certainly faced its share of challenges in the market. When it hit retailers last year, it cost as much as $600, and had virtually no original gaming content. Sure, it’s got a great Blu-ray disc player, and it looks slick, but without games, few people drank the Sony Kool-Aid.

360-Degree Speaker Produces Sound in Every Direction

360-Degree Speaker Produces Sound in Every Direction
Industrial designer Pieter Maes, one of the artists responsible for developing LaCie’s cool golden hard drive created this design for a cluster of speakers which are formed into a near perfect sphere. By joining a number of individual speaker cones to a single central spider-like structure, the orb can project sound in every direction.

What the iPhone Could have Looked Like

What the iPhone Could have Looked Like
Leave it to the cheap Chinese knock-off makers to produce this red headed stepchild of an iPod and a mobile phone. While it sort of looks like an iPod Classic, it slides open to reveal a phone.

Troja Arc Lamp Blows My Mind

Troja Arc Lamp Blows My Mind
On very rare occasion, I’ll see something that truly knocks me off my feet. That time is now. The Troja Arc Lamp is simply awe inspiring. Designed by Germany’s hansandfranz studio, the lamp features a sweeping arc that emits a warm halo of light around its subject.

USB Airplane Fan Ready to Take Off

USB Airplane Fan Ready to Take Off
This nifty airplane-inspired desktop fan will help you keep your cool while you’re slaving away surfing the Internet. The fan plugs into your USB port, and has a soft “propeller” that’s designed to not slice your digits off if you happen to get in its way.

Little Dude Could be My Favorite USB Hub Ever

Little Dude Could be My Favorite USB Hub Ever
There’s something that’s just right about this USB hub. The little guy strikes a near-perfect balance between design, simplicity and functionality (although that’s the one place it falls a little short). Kikkerland’s USB Hub Man has flexible wire arms and legs with a port at the end of each one.

Nixon Answer Watch for the Life Aquatic

Nixon Answer Watch for the Life Aquatic
Here’s a new digital watch I thought really stood out from the crowd. Nixon’s Answer watch comes in a couple of colors, but the bright blue and white one pictured here really caught my eye. To complement its swimming pool blue case (they call it Sky Blue, but I know better), the Answer features a aquatic blue-backlit LCD screen.
