A very cool project has popped up on Kickstarter for a very unusual book. The book is made of laser-cut wood with puzzles that you have to solve to go to the next page.  The book is called Codex Silenda: The Book of Puzzles and the story focuses on an assistant in the workshop of Da Vinci who gets trapped in the book when snooping in the shop.

Instructables member kevinmakes wanted to have a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 on his wall. The problem? That’s the comic book that introduced Spider-Man to the world, making it an extremely rare and expensive comic. So kevinmakes decided to do something nearly as amazing: make a layered wood replica of the comic’s cover.

There are plenty of wooden galoshes and slippers around, which means that wood can be used to make useful shoes. The thing about woodens is that they always tend to look quite old-fashioned. On the other hand, these wooden shoes don’t look like any I’ve ever seen.
