Do you want to travel to strange and exotic places across the universe? Then you need something more than your mom’s old station wagon to get you around. What you need is some kind of transportation portal.
The Musée royal de Mariemont in Belgium is holding an exhibition called “From Stargate to Comics: Egyptian Gods In Geek Culture”. Sounds pretty cool no? And you can travel there by Stargate.
Okay, you can’t get there by Stargate, but they do have one on site.
If you are going to cosplay someone from the Stargate show, you don’t mess around with any of the charcaters. You go straight for the Stargate itself. This costume that looks like a Stargate is as complicated as the real stargate from the show.
Thingiverse member Carasibana is officially an Ancient. Well, an Ancient-in-training. That’s because she made this nifty light-up Stargate replica. Carasibana based her replica on the design of fellow Thingiverse member Glitch, tweaking it to fit a stepper motor and an Arduino UNO with a motor shield to make the inner ring move.
This miniature stargate was made by YouTube user TheEnchantedBeer, which is oddly enough, an item that I have been questing for over the years. It may just be a legend, but I’m sure it’s real, and one day I’m gonna drink it!
Stargate is a big deal in my house. My wife and I have been married for nearly 17 years now and our first date was to see Stargate when it hit theaters. After we were married, the first time we agreed to splurge on cable was when the Stargate SG-1 series was on Showtime.
Poor, Stargate. Stargate Universe had to be canceled just when it was getting good. The worst part is that you’re left with all these open-ended questions, which will probably never get answered. If you are a Stargate fan and are in utter despair, don’t worry, because these coasters will make you feel better!
Created by science fiction fan/modder Henk Hamers (aka “Gup”), this incredible casemod gets its inspiration from the famous pyramid/spacecraft from the Stargate series.
No detail was spared in the construction of this neo-futuristic PC, which Henk built using a custom metal frame, wood, acrylic and polystyrene panels.
A lot of people will immediately think of Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. I always think of him as Ronon Dex from Stargate Atlantis. However you think of him, he always plays a good badass on screen.
Remember back when the SyFy channel was the Sci-Fi Channel and they had all those awesome shows on Friday nights? Sci-Fi was the place to watch Stargate: SG1, Farscape, and my favorite, First Wave. There have been some hits from SyFy since it departed from its roots with Battlestar Galactica and some others, but mostly the shows have sucked.
