Brickit App Uses AI To Scan Pile Of LEGO Bricks, Suggest Builds With Identified Pieces

He's disassembled countless appliances and managed to put a few back together, and one still works. Brickit is an app developed by LEGO lovers that can scan a pile of LEGO bricks and use AI to suggest different builds you can create with the pieces it identifies. That’s cool, because I haven’t been able to make anything with the LEGO bricks on my living room floor but painful feet and curse words.

We love building, and we love tech, so we made Brickit — an app that scans jumbles of bricks and helps you turn them into starships, dragonflies, pineapples wearing sunglasses, and whatever else you can imagine.

After taking a photo and scanning your pile of bricks, Brickit creates a list of user-generated builds you can make with the pieces (with thorough step-by-step instructions) and shows you where the pieces you need are in the photo. Provided you didn’t move them between when the photo was taken and when you began building. Otherwise, it’s up to you to find the pieces yourself. You just had to make things harder for yourself, didn’t you?

I love this idea because I always have leftover pieces after a LEGO set build, and I can never come up with something else to make on my own. Why do I always have extra pieces left over after a build? I blame poor directions; I don’t care if they were designed for a 6-year-old to follow.
